Leadership is about treating the people the way you want to be treated. Be the parent you wish your parents were, be the neighbor you wish your neighbor were
The goal of mankind is knowledge.
Karma in connection with metaphysics means the effects of which our past actions are the causes
To achieve the goal of knowledge in order to become an ideal person
So as to discover our soul in the process of learning
Pleasure is not the goal of man but knowledge
Character is the sum total of the bent of mind
Do good and love good
Actions taken today reflect in the future so it is important to work towards unveiling own soul to tap into infinite knowledge and try to become an ideal man
To achieve the ultimate goal of knowledge one must discover his own soul and work unselfishly
Working selflessly develops our power & helps us discover our own soul to achieve the ultimate goal of knowledge, making us an ideal person

Selfless duty leads to illumination.
Leadership is about getting things done
Only task and no relationship means rebellion, low commitment, low trust
Accomplishing the tasks at hand while building leadership
Healthy relationship with customers, employees, owners, suppliers
You manage things, you lead people
Leadership is the skill of influencing people to work enthusiastically to achieve a common goal for common good
Duty without selfish motive & with true spirit leads to illumination. Successful relationship is the key to become a great leader.

SESSION 4
Its not the material things in life that will bring you joy
John is feeling very low and that is the perfect place to begin
Paradigms are maps, models, psychological patterns we use to navigate our way through life
Clinging on to outdated paradigms can cause us to become stuck as the world passes

...learned about my understanding of servant leadership is that it is not a modern concept, but it was found in the Bible with documentations of Jesus being the model of a servant leader. Secondly, it is the focus on the growth of the individual, that they might flourish and achieve their full potential and not primarily the growth and potential of the organization that sets the servant leadership apart from other leadership styles. Thirdly, the primary concern of the servant leader is service to their followers (Philippians 2:3-4). Before even taking this class, I have been interested in the thoughts and theories of Robert Greenleaf who started the beginnings of Servant Leadership.
