“It was the most wonderful moment of my life...”

It was the most wonderful day of my life! Maybe it did not mean a great deal for others as it came naturally to them, but for me, it was a bliss. Yes, bliss; I had completely lost hope until Dr Hurree came in my life as a ray of light, enlightening my life and removing all the darkness which caused me to weep my heart out everyday. I am able to conceive! This very little fact made me dance a jig of joy even on the hospital stretcher. All thanks to Dr Hurree, I was able to become mother after ten long years of marriage. This very fact filled my ears with sweet cries of babies. I went mad of joy. And my husband, he was the second most happy. After several tests conducted by the doctor, we had discovered that I could not become expectant. As my husband was the only son of his parent, my mother-in-law used to taunt me as I could not bring an heir in their family, I had to beat these vulgar and hurting taunts until today. Today nobody could tell me anything. Some months later, I was nurturing a child in me. Being so happy, I forgot about the contract I signed before working; I did not have the right to take more than one months of holidays except emergencies. I badly needed holidays, but for that I had to pay the price of losing my job, my career, and my hard-works. As always , my husband supported me to decide what pleased me. But on the other hand, my in-laws beckoned me to resign. So what if I lose my job, at least I could bring to world my symbol of love of my husband and I. I would sacrifice my career , and my years of education to take good care of my child. Hence, I resigned. During the last three months of pregnancy, I stayed at home, obeying my mother-in-law. She now talked to me with undoubted love and softness ans I was treated like a daughter of this house. My husband, an angel

Worst Days of My Life

...Worst Days of My Life A simple life has a different meaning and value for everyone. Life is beautiful, but not always easy, it has problems too, and the challenge lies in facing them with courage, letting the beauty of life act like a balm, which makes the pain bearable, during trying times, by providing hope. I myself experienced a lot of bad days. I may say that because people are more negative, or better to say we remember negative things better than the positive ones. We may handle same problems and facts about life differently, not only because people are different but also it depends on the place, and time the action is taken. One of my worst experiences in life or better to say the worst days of my life was the first year I moved to United States. It was September 9th of 2007, when my family and I went to get our visa for the USA. I remember exactly that day that my brother was standing outside of United States embassy in Turkey. He couldn’t come in because he was over twenty-one, so he was aged out from the family visa that we were supposed to get all together. Everything went well, and after the interview was done we went out to see where my brother is. He was crying outside! He always had a dream of coming to United States, and for that reason that he got aged out, he had to wait for eight more year for his dream to come true. I assume that my mom had the worst day of her life, that she can come to United States, but her son can’t, and has to wait for eight more...

Personal Narrative: My Journey To Mission Beach

...Sixteen years into my life I have had a lot of ups, downs, and maybe a few loops just like a roller coaster, but all these things have defined who am I today. The best thing that has ever happened to me has been my family traveling to Mission Beach, San Diego, California every summer since I was two years old. For about fourteen years now five other families and mine have been going to Mission Beach for the same week, we all stay near each other. This has been the best thing in my life because no matter what is going on at home we always have this week to look forward to. This is not the only week that we travel to Mission, but it has become a tradition within all of our families and I could not imagine my life without it. In Mission I have...

Stupid Thing

...If you ask me “what is the best thing and worst thing happen in my entire 2014?” Hmmmmm…A lot of experienced entering in my mind right now but let us consider the word itself “best” and “worst”. The best thing happen in my 2014 is that I started to know this person, I still remember that day March 12, woah can’t imagined I can recall the date itself, it’s too sentimental for me well when my classmates making fun of us, they teased why we can’t try to have some kind of sparks lol. I started to feel a little bit weird but there’s a tiny echo that says yeah why can I at least bite that thing. As day passed by I started to feel different, I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but it’s the same feeling when I met that girl that was started to see myself in different way and change me, when I fell in the venom of this girl name Ann. I know I can’t be fall for the same mistake again. March 28, the final day of second semester of my 1st year life in college, all the fears, the awkwardness, and the kind of stupidity was released for the second time around I confessed to a girl, I thought it was the same with the first one but it was not, woah one of my memorable day, that conversation. To cut this long cliché story, when I knew Aubrey, I started to feel complete and happy again. If there is a best probably there is a worst thing. Loving this girl knowing that she can’t love you back because she has a boyfriend. Whenever this girl tell me her story, I mean their story, the way they...

Important Things

...Important Things I have many important things in my life that I could not live without. From people I know, to places I visit, even the music I listen to all means something to me. The very first thing that comes to mind when someone asks me what is important to me are the people that are important to me. My sister Krista is by far the best sister I could ever ask for; if I need anything she would be the first person that I go to for help. For example one time I got kicked out of a party at 3am and Krista came to pick me up. She is always there to talk about my problems and help me out. Obviously like any other normal siblings we do argue a lot, but it never lasts for very long. Krista is by far my favourite family member. Another person in my life that is extremely important to me is my nephew Cole. He is one year old and is the cutest baby I have ever seen. Cole can cheer me up even when I am in the worst mood. I remember one time I was having the worst day and nothing seemed to go right. I was being rude to everybody and nothing could make me smile. When I got home from school my sister showed up for a surprise visit with Cole and I instantly got the biggest smile on my face. It is impossible for me to be in a bad mood around him. Another thing that comes to mind when I'm asked what is important to me are the material things. I could never live without my iPod; I have a different playlist of music for every type of mood I am in. Music makes me happy when I'm upset...

Life Change

...My Life Changing Call: Amy Jo Sanchez Beckfield College Abstract My Life Changing Call Let me start by telling you that it has been extremely difficult to do a career change into something that has no real adrenalin rush for me. I have ADD and the adrenalin is what hooked me when I started in EMS over 17 years ago. I fell in love immediately and still love it to this day. The feeling you get helping people in some of the worst times of their lives even in the end of their life is unexplainable. It sometimes makes you question what there is after death. It’s one of those things that you don’t talk about in EMS or your own family. I have never told anyone that I question if there is an afterlife after death. All I know is that death is inevitable. Let me begin by telling you about the call that changed my life and pushed me to make a career change. It was a beautiful morning on March 21st 2013 and my partner and I had just delivered a patient to the emergency room and got an alarm for a new call, one that would forever change my life. The alarm came in as I was putting my stretcher into the back of my ambulance it was for a baby shot in the head. Now in 911 or emergency medicine not every call comes across as the truth, but little did I know that I would forever remember every detail of this call I was about to go on. This beautiful morning was about to become my worst morning one that I feel stole my soul and my career. They sent the alarm to us twice...

Personal Narrative: I Was Like Dying

...to control a person's life. The power it exudes is so cray-cray that it can cause someone to be oblivious to reality and prevent the truth from coming into the light. Personally, I used to have a fear. A fear so cray it controlled my life. A fear that occasionally prevented me from sleeping. A fear that I could not gain control over; it was so powerful that I could not arrest it and lock it in jail, and forget about it forever and ever. This fear was the fear of anesthesia. People are administered doses of this drug on a daily basis. In fact, most people love it. They love the sensation of drifting off into a deep sleep not having to worry about anything. I, on the other hand, hate it. Anesthesia was NOT my BFF. I had received it like a thousand times as a kid and a tween, and most times I was cool with it. Just like everyone else, I loved it. I loved it until the day I thought it was murdering me. While I was going under, a sharp pain maneuvered its way through...

...My best writing was when I used to like writing. I wrote a short 7 page paper in 8th grade for a project. I liked horror and gore so I wrote a horror story about a scarecrow at an abandoned house. Yes I know there was already some published but I was unique about my story. I was so well written my teacher gave my story to the board of education. Then the board gave it to a real publisher! My paper wasn't that good though but I at least get to say my paper was read by a real novelist. My worst story I wrote was in 10th grade. It is my worst because this is when I started doing my assignments the day before or the day it was due. My story was about the book we read in class which I fell asleep on. The assignment was for us students to write a story about yourself and compare it to the book, "To Kill A Mockingbird". I really didn't read this book at all either so I procrastinated. The worst part is that the assignment was for a midterm! This is when I got my first F. I would totally go back because it was a horrible story I wrote. I didn't even do the assignment correctly I just wrote a story about myself. I would want to erase that F because it was the only F I saw in my report card my who life! Not only I but my parents as well was upset with me. In critical writing I believe that I will write stories better, have great grammar , and know how to start and end a paper. I also can't wait last minute and do pre drafting before every paper so the assignment will be...

Going To America Monologues

...the year 2002, another one of the blissful rainy days, the kind of day where you think nothing bad could happen. Inside my home it was warm and comforting even though it was small. I was asleep when the phone rang; I knew it was going to be my sister again so I didn’t even bother to pick it up. At the time she wouldn’t stop begging me to go to America to visit her or even stay if I wanted, but I would definitely not leave the comfort of everything I had. I mean I had my husband, my family, and my life built here and I knew that going to America would mean starting all over. I remember being lost in my thoughts when I realized my husband wasn’t home, It was a little odd because at that moment I was pretty sure he didn’t have work. I decided to go look for him, I remember feeling a lost puppy who needed someone; anyone to be there to guide them. I remember looking out the window and feeling my world shatter into a million pieces. I couldn’t hear anything because my heart was beating out of my chest and the tears would...

Personal Narrative: Lily Owens

...A brand new start in life. That’s what I’m getting, just like Lily Owens in The Secret Life of Bees. From horrible days to the best. I was finally going to get the father figure I always wanted, but never had. I’m starting over. I was two-years old, clinging to my dad as he packed up his bags, and went to the airport to be deployed to Afghanistan. I would never see the same man come back, just an empty shell of the man. For the next three years we would just avoid each other. Until he got deployed again. I was seven-years old, my brother was only four. He came back 400 days later, in an even emptier shell than before. He went back to working nights. Which left just me and him for an hour after school. Trying to avoid him like I had done in the years before, but it became harder and harder as the days went on. From having a crumb on the counter, to leaving a paper that needed to be signed out on the table, anything would make him a rampant brute. This lasted for six and a half years. My mom finally said enough is enough, and divorced him. I have grown up a lot through all of this. From becoming more patient with my brother’s ADHD, to forgetting the little things. Granted I do still have little to no patients sometimes, but I’ve learned it’s easier to forget than to drag it out and cause a big...

Failure

...people. No matter how hard you try, Thers , I still face problems. It is as if my life is an ocean of endless problems and disappointments; however one of the disappointments I have faced happens to be the most interesting part of my life. I had been learning how to drive for five month. I was spending part of my life in the car, but I kept up with that to get my license and enjoy the freedom of being able to go wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted. The day I had my driving test was the day I would find out if all the effort and time I had put into driving was worth it or not. The day before my driving test was one of the worst and darkest days of my life because I was extremely nervous and worried about the judgment day, which was the next day. My brothers and sisters teased me about failing the road test. We went through all the instructions and all other details that there was to know. I usually sleep late, but on the day before my driving test I slept unusually early. During my sleep, I kept imagining failing the test the next day, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. However, I tried to stop thinking about tomorrow and tried to get a good night's sleep, which would be an advantage for me when taking the test. Finally, I slept like a baby without any nightmares this time. On the big day, I woke up to my alarm and got ready to be picked up by my uncle to go to the DMV, where I would have my driving test. I was very nervous while we were on the way to the DMV. Once I got...

We Re Moving Again Narrative

...October 28th, 2014, was unquestionably the worst day of my life. My parents sat my sister and me down to make an announcement. I initially believed we might have been moving again, dreading yet another relocation, but once my parents had made their announcement, every part of me wished that “we’re moving again” was all they had to say. My mom, they told me, had been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Once my mother's illness was announced, I truly did lose myself in ways that are still difficult to explain. Because of this single moment, every aspect of my life for the next few years was filled with anticipation for the worst. Freshman year was the hardest of all four years in high school. Not only was it a transition year for me from moving from Germany...

My Life

...Running during those sun covered days where we refused to go anywhere if it wasn't outside to escape the monogamy of the classroom and create on your own venture. The playground didn’t do it, apologies to my beloved slide. I can’t say I felt close to those memories; the most emotionally sharp and clear have been in my early childhood. I can’t say they've been the best, but I can say they've made me cherish every bit of who I am now. I can make any event substantial, but I can’t make all of them memorable. The ones that haunt me and characterize my person now are the ones that will stay with me for years to come. I can say I truly do love my life now, but it has changed. It’s just taken those fights between my family, dark days, and massive demotivation to become who I am. I can’t live on all the good times because those aren’t the ones that have defined me. My way to go back to the worst and best memory that I hold I need to show what tore my family apart, but left in itself a tiny little part of happiness. I buried my sullen, tear-drenched face into my pillow. Another fight had broken out and the dreaded “D” word came out once again. Divorce. Nothing could be done for my internal agony, as I became the most unsettled person in the house. Not even the feeling of my sister stroking my hair could calm my soul. This was more than any injured heart; this was a loss of stability and reliance to me. This was another of the moments I thought life was over. As my moans subsided, I didn’t know...

My Worst Day so Far

...was a sun shining outside my window. I cut school. I thought the best thing to do is to go to the river with my friends. When I was going outside I saw a black cat crossing my path. I've already known that this day isn't going to be one of the bests in my life. Later it turned out that my worst fears were realized. I bought a bus ticket. When I got to the bus stop and I understood that I'm late, it really put me out of humour. Me and my friend decided to go on foot. It was a really hot day. After we had arrived to the river, I saw that I forgot my swimming trunks. Even though there's heat, water was cold and it's impossible to swim there without trunks so I decided to sit in the shade. I didn't feel to play football or voleyball. There's a place where we can rent a canoe or kayak near the river. I heard that there's cheap. And it really is! It's only 4$ per hour. I didn't think long and 5 minutes later I decided to boat down the river. But unfortunately bad luck was chasing me. After I had boated about 100 feets, the sun set, it starded raining. I knew I had to go back but boating upstream was really taft. I reached the land and I was walking alongshore having my canoe on tow. I had had (?) enough of it! In a minute I was failing (loosing power, is 'failing' correct?). Rain was even bigger than a few moments later. When I reached the harbour I was tired out and drenched to the skin. In a hurry I gave back a canoe. There's no-one near the river, even my friend hid somewhere. I didn't...

Troy Missouri: A Short Story

...Have you ever felt as if you were living the dream? That anything bad in your life just disappeared? That’s exactly how I felt on June 1st 2015 in Troy Missouri. The sun was shining down on me as the wind blew at just the perfect speed, in which made my hair spin as if I was in a tornado. And at this moment I knew my life was perfect, and nothing could change that. But I guess I thought a bit too soon, because before all the paradise came the 13 hour long and painful car ride. The car ride felt like a never ending lecture from your parents. And the worst part about it was that there was no amazing scenery on the way there, so all you could do was stare at long fields of green and brown hills. After 13 long hours of nausea and suffering my...
