Statement of FaithCOVENANT AND STATEMENT OF FAITH
Section One. Covenant. The sovereign congregations which are members of this corporation are united in accepting the Holy Scriptures as the sole guide and authority in all matters of faith, doctrine and practice.
Section Two. Statement of Faith. has a corporate commitment to a basic body of beliefs founded on God's revealed truth. The Statement of Faith is the expression of a never ending effort to clarify an understanding of the primary doctrines we accept.
It is the understanding of this Fellowship that, although individual Grace Brethren Churches remain distinct, autonomous legal entities, congregational church government relates alone to the incidental affairs of the local congregation and not to doctrinal practices or tenets which must be general or universal the same in all congregations. The basic doctrines of one congregation shall be the same as the basic doctrines in every other. believing the Bible, the whole Bible, and nothing but the Bible to be the infallible rule of faith and of practice and feeling the responsibility to make known the divine message of the Bible, presents the following articles as a statement of those basic truths taught in the Bible which are common to our Christian faith and practice. THE BIBLE. The Word of God, the sixty six Books of the Old and New Testaments, verbally inspired in all parts, and therefore wholly without error as originally given of God (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21). THE ONE TRUE GOD. Existing eternally as three persons the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:22; Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14). THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. His preexistence and deity (John 1:1-3), incarnation by virgin birth (John 1:14; Matthew 1:18-23), sinless life (Heb. 4:15), substitutionary death (2 Cor. 5:21), bodily resurrection (Luke 24:36-43), ascension into heaven and

...The Classic I read was The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I believe this book truly is a classic. Fitzgerald writes this book from the perspective of Nick Carraway, a World War One veteran. Nick had a very intriguing way of explaining the happenings of the story. For instance at some points instead of directly quoting what a character said, Nick would summarize some of the dialogue. The book leaps right in with Nick spending time with his cousin Daisy and her promiscuous husband, Tom. During this meeting you see, right away the frivolity and shallowness of some of the upper class. As Nick spends time at his cousin’s estate they spend most of their time drinking and trying to sound intelligent. At one point they even gossip about the butler’s nose. The only thing that stops them from this monotonous cycle of drinking and gossip is when Tom leaves the table. Daisy’s friend Jordan explains to Nick that he left to talk to his mistress on the phone. Soon after that Tom takes Nick with him to visit his mistress, who is also married, and take her to New York with them. As the story develops you see even more shallowness and promiscuity. Nick meets Gatsby, a wealthy man with old money and an education from Oxford. Gatsby has grand parties at his house and as Nick finds out many people show up uninvited to drink Gatsby’s wine and be seen in high esteem. Nick also notices how fake the people can be. There are a few occasions in the book where people who have grudges between...

Starbucks: Delivering Customer Service

...― 109 ― Toyota and Why It Is So Successful Robert B. Austenfeld, Jr. 1) As of May 2006 GM was still struggling to stay out of bankruptcy. (Received on May 10, 2006) 1. Introduction The purpose of this paper is to describe one of the most successful companies in the world and explain the reasons for that success. Fortune magazine’s February 20, 2006 edition featured this headline on its cover: “The Tragedy of General Motors” and a story of GM’s woes by Carol J. Loomis. Two weeks later, Fortune’s next edition on March 6, 2006 had this headline on its cover: “How Toyota Does It: The Triumph of the Prius.” This stark contrast is typical of the stories circulating in the media these days. At a time when a company that was once admired and for many years held the lofty position of the world biggest automaker appears on the brink of bankruptcy 1) , Toyota is about to overtake it in global sales this year (O’Dell, 2005). Why is Toyota continuing to thrive at a time when other carmakers are struggling to survive? At the outset I would like to acknowledge the main source for much of the information in this paper: The Toyota Way: 14 Management Principles from the World’s Greatest Manufacturer by Jeffrey K. Liker (2004). This paper is organized as follows: 1. Introduction 2. The history of Toyota 3. The Toyota Way 4.
