I do not give up or take “no” for an answer, and I am incredibly passionate. In April 2015, a life-changing opportunity presented itself, simultaneously presenting an enormous problem which I had to solve. Motivation, unique grit, and tenacity allowed me to overcome the problem, help others, and achieve a goal. I learned an unbelievable amount in the process. Hard work, passion, and focus --grit-- made me successful in solving an enormous problem, and the experience has impacted me immensely. My school’s Thespian Troupe was invited to the International Thespian Festival in Nebraska, the pinnacle of high school theatre. In addition, I worked a multitude of car washes, yard sales, road blocks, and bake sales and sold hundreds of tickets to a benefit performance of Smokey Joe’s Café. I used every moment of free time I had to fundraise, even spending prom night on my phone contacting potential sponsors in between dances. I worked tirelessly, non-stop, for those two weeks. I sacrificed innumerable hours, passionately working, demonstrating undeniable grit. Therefore the experience taught me the strength of willpower, passion, and hard work. Additionally, I learned anything is possible and problems are only as monstrous as I make them. I witnessed the inherent kindness of people, and felt the love of my community. I solved the problem through tireless hours of work, and left the situation with a heightened sense of purpose and ability. Having solved one of the most insurmountable problems I have ever faced, I now feel that I can achieve anything I work hard to achieve. In conclusion, I now know that with tenacious application of hard work and a positive attitude, the world is at my fingertips: from everyday problems, to huge issues, I can do anything I set out to
