Time Management and Work Ethic
What is time management? Time management is the ability to plan and control how you spend the hours in your day to effectively accomplish your goals. Poor time management can be related to procrastination. The time we have no matter how we spend it is limited. You want to accomplish more by doing things in a timely fashion so that there is less procrastination. Time management is really just about managing you.
The first thing to do is to self-discipline you. What do I mean when I say self-discipline? Well the word discipline comes from the Latin word meaning to teach, so self-discipline is just teaching you. When you put it like that sounds easy enough right? When talking about self-discipline there are four things to keep in mind which are making choices, making changes, using willpower, and taking responsibility. This is the key to good time management skills.
Now that you know the key ingredient to time management, I will share with you why it is so important. We never realize how when we do or don’t do one thing how it starts a chain reaction. A chain reaction is a series of events each caused by the previous one.
One reason why good time management is important is because it reduces stress. One main reason you stress is because you feel rushed. You feel you have a million things to do and not enough time to do them. That then leads to tiredness and frustration. Another reason is it teaches you good discipline. When you are so use to doing things in a timely manner and getting them done you no longer feel the need to procrastinate anymore. This takes a huge load off your shoulders and you feel much more relaxed. Good time management and work ethic can go hand and hand. First let’s find out what work ethic means. Work ethic is the principle that hard work is intrinsically virtuous or worthy of reward. A reason work ethic is important because of asset protection. For example if you treat them with respect and dignity that’s how they with treat your company when respecting the rules and policies. Another reason it is important is the public image you show. You want to have people of all sorts that help make up your company. You want this because you want to attract people from all over. It is kind of like a role model for the business but you have more than one standing for different things such as different ethical groups. Any way you look at it to have good time management skills you have to have good work ethics as well.
