Video summary 1
The video talks about the different steps and components the CPU goes through during the startup process.
BIOS is the first step in the startup process. It is permanent and it does not require power. After this step, the POST gets started and this is where the hardware is verified. It checks also the memory and assigns system resources. During the BIOS startup the CMOS is checked and it compares POST and RAM. The CMOS is not permanent and can be edited by the user.
As stated before the BIOS is placed in the ROM and can’t be edited, but the CMOS is volatile and can be edited. In the event of the CPU losing power, the CMOS battery gives a small amount of energy so that the CMOS configuration is not lost.
When the CMOS battery dies the configuration is lost. However there are some signs of a dying battery. Some of the symptoms are that the clock starts to run slower and it is possible to get a checksum error. The system reboot will clear the checksum error and BIOS will be set using the ROM.
The BIOS is meant to be permanent and cannot be changed. If the BIOS needs to be changed, a new mother board will be needed. Another alternative is to flash the BIOS; for this you will need to a Eeprom. When you get a new BIOS, download the manufactures copy of the firmware and run the BIOS flash installer so that you don’t have to buy a new motherboard.

...complex. The current method of keeping track of this information is outdated and difficult to use. A new database would create a more accurate and user friendly method of keeping track of important business aspects. * Scope: The Wild Wood Apartments tracking database will track necessary business aspects involved in running the apartment complex. The database will track basic information such as apartment complex addresses, revenues, tenants, salaries paid to employees, total revenues and expenses as well as apartment occupancies and vacancies. It will track the leases on file, including when they begin and end, the lease contract number, names of the tenants, the amount of deposits paid and the monthly rent amounts. The database will also track monthly rent payments, including the amount that was paid, the date it was paid, whether or not the tenant was late making payment along with the tenants lease contract number and apartment number. Finally the database will track maintenance reports including which apartment required maintenance, what type of issue occurred, how it was resolved, the date it was resolved and any expense involved in repairs. * Constraints: The report sent to headquarters does not show any tracking of the free rent or stipends given to the managers. This appears to be something that it is not being closely tracked or monitored. *...

Radar

...pulse Radar cannot measure Doppler and thus only the distance and not the speed of a target can be determined. Figure 1: Simple, non-coherent Radar. Coherent Pulse Radar/Pulse Doppler radar Coherent pulse Radar is in the position to deliver information regarding the range as well as Doppler information, i.e. the velocity and/or speed of an object. Here a coherent oscillator (COHO) is introduced on the transmission side, which also delivers the phase reference for the receiving signal. The transmitting oscillator (LO for Local Oscillator) is added on the transmitting end and is again taken out at the receiving end. In comparison to the Doppler frequency, which can be measured, both oscillators must be sufficiently stable for the entire time. In Figure 2, an example of coherent pulse Radar, a quadrature modulator is employed to additionally determine the direction of the target movement. Figure 2: Coherent pulse Radar. Two various fundamental methods of Doppler analysis are known and will be subsequently and shortly introduced. The transmitting signal for pulse Radar is: Us=Assinω0t The reference signal: Uref=Arefsinω0t+φref φref= constant, φref=0. The receiving signal from a target at range R becomes: UE=AEsinω0+ωdt-2ω0Rc After combining one obtains:...

What could Mazda learn from eye-tracking software that would be difficult to learn? from other observational methods? The eye-tracking software provides Mazda with the ability to observe eye movement and track the amount of time spent looking at a particular area. 2. What are the shortcomings of this method? The shortcomings of using the eye tracking software method are: • The equipment is expensive • Some users can't work with the equipment • Calibrating the equipment takes time 3. Along with the eye-tracking research, what other research methods could help Mazda assess the usability of its website? Summarize your advice for how Mazda could use complementary methods to obtain a complete understanding of its website’s usability. Questionnaires are an effective way of quantifying data from a sample group, and testing emotions or preferences. This method is very cheap and easy, where budget is a problem, and gives an element of scale to opinion and emotion. These figures are arbitrary, but at least give a directional method of measuring intensity. Case 11.2- Texas Instruments and E-Lab Case Overview Texas Instruments hired E-Lab to conduct...

...Scientific Services. LIMS was implemented in July 2007 to improve work processes, traceability, turn-around time, data security and accountability and to incorporate the aspects and requirements of ISO 17025. Sample lifecycle using LIMS Sampling of samples Samples are sampled by either internal or external samplers. Our internal samplers perform their sampling routes using handheld units with a built-in GPS functionality that are interfaced with the LIMS system and capture valuable data e.g. sample date and time, distance travelled, field tests performed, sampling and field test notes. Logging samples Samples are logged into LIMS via bar-code scanning or scheduling. Once this is done, a unique sample number, which can be used as a tracking or reference number as part of the ISO 17025 standards, is assigned to it. A bar-coded label containing this number is attached to the sample bottle, and this is used in the laboratories for label scanning. Receiving, logging, bar-coding and distributing of samples is undertaken at our centralised Sample Receiving Area. Analysing and receiving of samples into the laboratory Samples are scanned into the various laboratories for traceability purposes, so as to define their exact location. Afterwards, Laboratory Technicians create work batches in LIMS which batch the samples according to preset requirements e.g. grouping samples of the same product type together in a pre-determined sequence. After completing analysis according to strict...
