A Tracer Study Prosoasa

...BACKGROUND Introduction A nation’s economy runs on the knowledge and skills of its people. The requirements for skills evolve with external investment, technological advances and globalization. To keep pace with changes, people need to acquire skills to be productive and earn a living and all of these can be achieved through education. Education is the most important mechanism for the empowerment of people for their socio-economic, political, and technological development. The learning environment of higher education institutions must take cognizance of this in structuring their course programs. For the purpose of quality assurance of course programs, higher education institutions can contribute meaningfully by applying the principles of tracer study to create sustainable learning empowerment environment for the continuous professional development of past students. While many higher education institutions provide training to a variety of clients, most forget them as soon as they graduate and leave the institution’s environment with no means to contact them. Employability upon graduation an over the long term is, understandably, the major priority for the vast majority of our University students. Over the past decades or so the University has increasingly offered a wide spectrum of higher education courses that provide students with the necessary tools enabling them to develop their employability skills, to heighten their awareness of these skills and to improve their ability...

How I Lost My Youth

...How I lost my Youth. I did not know how my last second decision to join the Navy would haunt me for the rest of my life. Where I went from being an innocent kid that was invincible to the world, to bleeding for my country and losing lives of friends. There were moments that led up to this unforgettable situation. It started with General Quarters, which means to man your pre-assigned battle stations, once at your battle station; you must look for all targets while preparing your weapon. Then after all is said and done, I had a point in my life that changed who I was as a person. I had to learn to cope with taking lives and the loss of my best friends. Each of these moments had a lasting effect on me. This situation happened in the Middle East and is where I felt I lost my youth and changed who I was as a person. The day was calm and peaceful in the Persian Gulf about 12 miles off the coast of Iran, when all of a sudden general quarters sounded. The Captains voiced echoed through the hallways, “Man your battle stations; this is not a drill.” In an instant adrenaline pumped through my body as I made my way to the armory. As I was issued my side arm, Kevlar vest, and helmets, I inspected each to make sure they would server their purpose. Once my gear checked out, I moved to the port side bridge wing, where my M60 awaited my arrival. Arriving to my station I had to become alert to my surroundings and locate all targets. Before fully engaging the target I waited for my orders...

Graduate Tracer Study of B.S Aquino National High School S.Y 2011 - 2012

...CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION I. BACKGROUND Our future growth relies on competitiveness and innovation, skills and productivity... and these in turn rely on the education of our people. – Julia Gillard. The increase of low-income, low-skilled youth in the labor market, particularly in developing countries, is a major concern internationally. In some regions of the world, young people are nearly three times as likely as adults to be unemployed. They are also more likely to work in the informal labor market than adults, in low quality jobs that offer limited socio-economic security, training opportunities, and working conditions. This enormous unlocked potential represents a substantial loss of opportunity for both individuals and society. With increasing emphasis being given to work- and skills-based solutions to economic competition and poverty in the developing world, comes a renewed focus on technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as a means to expand opportunities for marginalized youth (Tripney, et. al., 2013). Enhancing the quality of basic education in the Philippines is urgent and critical. In line with this, one of the discussions of DepEd which incurred on October 2010 is to enhance the basic education program of the country in a way that is least disruptive to the current curriculum, most affordable to government and families, and aligned with international practice through the K-12 policy. The poor quality of basic education is reflected in the low achievement...

Rendell Case Analysis

...[pic][pic] [pic][pic] [pic] [pic] 1. What is the organizational philosophy of Martex with respect to the controller function? What do you think of it? Should Rendell adopt this philosophy? Martex Corporation has adopted a close relationship between the corporate controllers and the division controllers. Each business unit manager does not have his own staff. Divisional controllers informed directly to the corporate controller. Martex management looks for transparency and impartial access to information, whether operational or financial, at each business unit so that: a) Each business unit's goal will be more congruent with the company's goal b) Top management will be able to make more sound decisions if corporate staff will have access to unbiased information c) Corporate will have better control of the information reported to top management in order to avoid sugar coating of the financial information and operating statistics d) Corporate will have better and quicker response on red flag information on each business unit (for example, a business unit that overspent on marketing expenses instead of previsional budget) We believe that this philosophy can be a real strong asset for the company because it enables producing reliable reports for each division and data statistical budget. Study Abroad

...I believe that college is a time for learning – but not only about academics. In my opinion, it is a time for learning about ones own self. Personal growth and development are key components of the college years and I am so happy I was granted the opportunity to do a study abroad program. It has offered endless possibilities toward accomplishing goals that I never thought Id meet. Ever since I was a young girl, I have dreamed of traveling to a foreign country. I always knew that I wanted to go abroad and study in Europe while in college. Something about being independent, exploring the unknown, learning and experiencing a foreign people and their culture has always appealed to me. Studying abroad was a thoughtful decision for me. I had reached a point in my life where I wanted to see beyond the walls of my own everyday lifestyle and way of thinking and experience something new. While in London I felt as if I gained all of these experiences and more. I was able to broaden my view in many different aspects. As a business major, I was thrilled to learn that Bloch School offered a study abroad program and also one as unique as this program. The Bloch school offered me the opportunity to increase my global and intercultural awareness as well as an opportunity to network and distinguish myself to potential Although I do fit the stereotypical blonde-haired, blue-eyed American, and my Spanish is not in superb condition, I would like to attempt to become a part of Chilean society...

Exploration of a Journal Article in Sociology

...In your own words, describe what type of article it is. Is it a primarily a review of existing research, or a report of new research? How can I tell? If it is a research article, what type of research was involved? Two international professors combined together on an article that discussed possible implications for special education. Dimitris Anastasiou and James M. Kauffman co-authored an article in Exceptional Children entitled A Social Constructionist Approach to Disability: Implications for Special Education. This article primarily discusses a term called the social model of disability. The article defines the social model of disability as a “functional analysis of the body as a machine to be fixed in order to conform with normative values.” This model identifies certain barriers, attitudes and exclusion by society as the main contributory factors in disabling people. While physical, sensory, intellectual, or psychological variations may cause individual functional limitation or impairments; the authors do not believe these conditions lead to “disability unless society fails to take account have and include people regardless of their individual differences.” This paper will further evaluate the article. In a paragraph or two, summarize what you’ve learned about the content of the article. What were the major findings? How were they supported? To begin, this article is primarily a collection of existing research on disabilities and special education. As previously mentioned...

Why Do People Study in College?

...students can learn more and new knowledge and experience in it. Of course, different people have different reason to study in college. For example, some people want to be to go on a further study after they graduate from the college; some people hope to find a good job after their studying in the college and also some people wish to exchange their present situation through studying in the college. In my opinion, no matter what reason people study in the college for, studying in the college is just a preparation for their future’ life. First of all, students can learn new knowledge and experiences from the studying in the college. There are many teachers, professors with abundant teaching experience who teach students lots of new knowledge and help them to solve the problems in their study. With their help, student can learn a lot of useful basic and professional knowledge which is very helpful for their future’ work. and study. After they finish their study in the college, students go to work in the society and contribute to the different fields. Secondly, students can learn how to arrange their own time reasonably. Before their studying in college, their life often arranged by their parents and their study often arranged by their teachers. It is very different for them to live and study in college, because students studying in college have to arrange their life and study by themselves. They have right to arrange their part time, such as when to get up, when is the sport-time, when...
