I had arrived at the Arno river where the famous bridge Ponte vecchio, this bridge is famous because this bridge was the first bridge to be built over the Arno river, but it was the only one left standing out of the ones built back in 1345, yes after 668 years it’s the only bridge left standing out of the ones built back in medieval times, most of the other ones had been bombed don during world war two. Later on that day I went to visit Basilica di San Miniato al Monte which is one of the finest examples of Tuscan Romanesque architecture, it was built in the 11-13th century and has a beautiful view overlooking Florence, it really is a view I will remember for the rest of my life. The next day I went to a number of old roman villa’s, they were just so beautiful, the amount of detail gone into them was just terrific, the art on the walls inside is magnificent, I just think it’s crazy how the Romans had done all this with the little technology they had back in them days.
