Ans 3 – CASE STUDY
About the product ,
The mushrooms are one of the healthiest foods available, it ismainly prepared from raring of fungi. An excellent dietary supplement , excessive free radical supplier has ample vitamin D and other nourishments.

Problems associated
1. Only about 60 to 70 % of the mushrooms are eatable, remaining are highly toxic.
2. People tend to think of it as a non vegetarian product, so it looses the mass appeal in India where more tah 50 % of the people are pure vegetarian.
3. It perishes very faSTLY and needs cold storage facility for it.
4. It needs a certain type of climate and constant attention to grow profitably and safely so not many people can produce it.

Strategies for consumer awareness of the product:-

1.There is a highly untapped source of income that is quite unaware of the good things and taste of mushrooms – Rural Population. They could contact the nearest gram panchayats and BDO’s which would help the anganwadi people to include it in their daily presentations at villages.
2. They could contact the local restaurants via hotel Paramount so that they may distribute the pamphlets containing info about mushrooms to the customers while waiting for there order.
3.The vegetarian people could also be given examples like curd , and alcohol, which are made by bacteria itself and are consumed by veggies also.
4. Children could be given an educational tour to the mushroom raising farm of the young entrepreneurs and could be shown , made aware and taste some of the good dishes made from mushrooms, this would encompass and target the whole family.
5. It may be used as a replacement for non vegetarian foods like chicken which are much more expensive and moreover it would be cholesterol free.
6.They could also make presentation and thus approach the different cosmetic companies, giving them information about the free radicals present in mushrooms which could be used in anti aging creams and thus it could be sold and consumed at a mass level.

Distribution Channel
1.Assoon as the mushrooms are produced, since it is a perishable item and they wont get the climate fit for mushroom raising throughout the year so they essentially need a cold storage facility which could easily be taken care of by the local cold storage facilities catering to various purposes ex, meat packing industry. As they have a shortage of funds taking the storage on lease might pose a problems so they might offer a reasonable percentage profit to the storage owner for storing mushrooms throughout the year.
Now they have got to deide the percentage of mushrooms to be delivered to rural market and urban market.
Rural Market-They need refrigeration trucks as mushrooms would have to travel longer distanceswithout perishingwhich would be provided by cold storage owner only.

Urban Markets- They Wont be having such trouble for these markets we have got to distribute the mushroom percentage for super markets i.e retail stores,to pizza delivery chains as mushroom is one of the main component of pizzas and local restaurants. In super markets they might give liberty to the supr market owners to distribute mushrooms in their own name therby giving us a reasonable amount of profit. In case of restaurants there is a huge market of mushroom in Chinese dishes. They could target local Chinese restaurants and even small thela walla and Chinese vans thereby giving them lucrative incentives.
The income generated would be distributed in expansion of industry and most importantly quality improvement and healthy marketing so that the company can emerge as a brand in the respective industry. This completes the distribution chain of sachin and virag.

It has an employee base of 3000 people , including subsidiaries .
Subsidiary information
1.Hinduja inc , USA –FULLY OWNED SUBSIDARY
2.HTMT, Europe -51% owned subsidiary
3.HTMT France -51% owned subsidiary
SOME IMPORTANT POINTS TO PONDER UPON
1. Registered a steep drop of 93.29% in net profit which amounts to $ 112.03 million as against the previous profit of $ 1670.53 million for the last quarter of 2012.
2. Net sales too declined at a very fast pace i.e. 79.78 % amounting to $ 161.78 million against the original net sales of $ 798.03 million.
3. The total income too saw an exceedingly diminishing rate of 94.3 % amounting to $161.72 million from the original $ 2850 million.
4. The earnings per share ( EPS) -$ 5.45 (as per NASDAQ)

ANALYSIS
1. Any steep drop of a company’s net profit and total sales, and that too, in such a small time such as a single quarter, must be a result of constantly growing unrest and poor services offered either on behalf of the company or the employees which resulted in the crash of the economic backbone of the entire company.
2. As the net income comprises of the net profit and sales, so that too suffered a great loss which may have been a result of the short sightedness of the policy makers of the company who invested $ 1200 million in the expansion of the company in the cable TV and broadband sector which has been lopsided since the recession in Europe .

3. EPS of the company, diminishing profits etc show that the investors and users are and have been constantly losing their trust in the company and its policies thereby ensuring a shadowy future for the company unless given an outside help either from European Union or some private investors (as the basic reason for the drop is due to the poor performance of European sector of the company).
4. As far as the investment point of view is concerned, it is quite certain that this is a no-no situation for the market investors but if certain measures are taken by the company to improve its policies, performance and is able to impress the investors then it would be a good idea to invest in the shares as soon as possible because from that point onwards company can only show a positive growth rate.
