...In my opinion one of the major difference between graduate and undergraduate studies is autonomy. In undergraduate studies, students are pretty much guided through the entire process. In some institutions, your undergrad advisor will almost hold your hand along the process. Not that I’m saying advisors don’t help you in graduate school, but there is more that is expected from you at this level. You are expected to be more independent and responsible while in graduate school. Another difference, is that during your graduate studies you are learning more specialized material. Usually, undergrad focuses on more broad and general concepts. However, in graduate school you are most likely specializing in a particular area within your field. The material is generally more intense and requires much more time. There is more reading and writing involved in graduate school. The amount of writing required throughout your undergraduate studies, is not nearly as much as your graduate studies require. You are required to do much more research, and are expected to present it in a professional manner. In most cases you are required to present a thesis at the end of you program. You are expected to be self-driven and self-motivated. I also believe that the information is much more interesting in graduate school. That is why everyone around me said goes to college. Finish and graduate. A college degree can only help you and not hurt you.
