Understand the personal attributes valued by employer

I’m going to write about the personal attributes, most employers look for in work.

Self-Motivation: is key attribute employers look for in an employee. Self-motivation means the key to someone to motivate themselves on what they want to achieve. For example if I want to go achieve my target in media I have to work hard so I motivate myself to gain information and research more.

Leadership: having leadership qualities allows you to proceed in your job, maybe then giving you the qualities as a manger. Leadership means that you can take control of group of people or major or small companies this is a very good key attribute for people who want to be the next potential manager or Alan Sugar.

Dependability: meaning that you’re a trustworthy employee and people will assure that you are a trustable employee, and reliable when needed and your employer will know that your reliable because when he needs you, you’ll be there. For example a job which requires you to be there at the place and time for a special meeting to present something, because your manager has only chose you, because that you’re a dependable person and know what to do.

Respect: showing admiration to someone’s work ethic they’re qualities or achievements. Having respect for others will give the opportunity to gain friends and have a good reputation in your work place, also making friends in your working environment will indicate to people that you can work in a team with people and cooperate with them. An example of where you would need to show respect is in school, teachers need to show respect to the students, so the pupils feel that they’re safe and won’t be hurt and that’ll trigger them to give respect to their teachers.

Punctuality: this means showing up at your work at the right time, dressing smartly to make yourself look like

Attributes and Attitudes

...Attributes and Attitudes Why does attributes matter to employers? Personal attitude Personal attributes are qualities and features of an individual that may either be their personality or how they are in the workplace. Some of these are expected and highly valued by employers because they are expected to produce high quality work which helps the firm to receive higher revenue. This booklet will specify some of these attributes that an employer would be chasing you after for. Working Procedures Working procedures are usually a job-specific attribute. This is because different firms have different standards and job roles. Company policies are for example; health and safety, and data protection. Being able to execute working procedures with high quality is valued by employers. Firstly, health and safety procedures are crucial; so if an employee does their job correctly without harm, then no damage and problems can occur; employers may also have to train employees which use more of the company’s revenue which is bad for them. Having good knowledge of data protection is great because it means the employer can feel secure because if they don’t abide by the data protection then they can get sued for it. Decent knowledge of company policies will mean the employer uses less time watching the employee keeping up with their deadlines and following rules correctly. Numeric skills and Creativity Numeracy is the ability to understand and work with numbers. Everyone needs to be somewhat...

Teamwork

...despite any personal conflict between individuals. In the case of the differences between the employee’s causing negative production within the company, I would try and create away to put people together within certain groups based on their skills and job performance. I would try to make sure people are in groups where they are able to benefit from one another rather than cause conflict. It is important for co-workers to feel important in the workplace, they have to feel comfortable to freely input and make suggestions. In my opinion, when a employee feels that they are an important part of a business and their contributions are valued, they are more willing to work and perform. There has to be a clear understanding of what teamwork is and that there is no “I” in team. I have a strong leadership background and to make the company run smoother it will have to start with me and the decisions I make or put into place, to be put into effect and enforced so that it can continue to provide a great workplace. Teamwork allows for so much more to be achieved in terms of goals and in improving the efficiency and productivity of the employees. A diverse workplace is essential to both creativity and productivity which is often overlooked by employers and hiring managers. Diversity encompasses attributes such as gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, physical ability, education, age, etc. In workplaces of today, employers need to consistently...

It can now be seen that Millennials provide benefits to employers in the workplace (Alsop, 2008). Millennials bring different characteristics to the working environment, regardless of their stereotypes. Their use of technology can be utilized as a positive attributed and thus an impact on their success. Millennials are also seeking a coaching or mentoring environment through reverse mentoring. The impact Millennials will have in the workplace is one of success and the desire to work better, but they also need positive reinforcement. Millennials are also seeking an environment where they have different benefits than prior generations thereby leading to increased productivity. Employers can work with this generation by providing reverse mentoring possibilities. Flex time schedules and more communication with their supervisors as well as the ability for them to bring their technological characteristics to use, are all critical benefits which can be...

Student Athletes Career Skills

...their teams. Some are working in hopes of furthering their athletic careers, while others know this is an opportunity to participate in sports to make enduring friendships and learn valuable life sills. Clarke student athletes model integrity, respect and responsibility on and off the field. Regardless of which path a student athlete pursues, it is likely that eventually they will end up in a non-athletic career. The likelihood of making it to the professional level of athletics from college is very low, typically 1 or 2% depending on the sport.  Moreover, the typical length of a professional career as an athlete is rather short. However being a student athlete offers a lot of skills and traits that can spark the interest of a potential employer or be helpful skills as a current student.  We call these “transferable skills” since these are broad skills that are valuable to have as an athlete, but also just as valuable to have as a student or potential employee. Some examples of transferable skills for student athletes include the following: * Understanding the value of teamwork * Competitive nature * Handling pressure well * Coachable and willing to learn * Great sense of discipline * Strong work ethic * Understanding the importance of preparation * Seeks and loves a challenge * Self-motivated * Mentally tough Additionally,...

How Personal Can Ethics Get?

...How Personal Can Ethics Get? 1. Discuss how personal differences and preference can impact organizational ethics. Let us start off with the definition of ethics.  Ethics are the values and principles that help individuals determine between what is “right” and what is “wrong”. Ethics of an organization determine how the organization ethically responds to an internal or external stimulus.   Each person has different attributes, different backgrounds, and different levels of moral intelligence. One of these individual differences is personality. Individuals behave in different ways based on their personalities. Personality is the overall profile or combination of stable psychological attributes that capture the unique nature of a person. There are the physical and mental characteristics that reflect how a person looks, thinks, acts, and feels. An individual difference does not affect the individual alone, but everyone around them in an organization. In an organization, there is no way an individual can be treated the same way as the other employees because everyone’s personality is different. Leaders or groups should not try to change or otherwise directly control employee personality because trying to do so is generally impossible. Personality differences and preferences always impact organizational ethics because each employee in an organization is unique and may or may not act like someone else will act in a similar situation. People have views and beliefs that will...

Values and Ethical Decision Making

...morals into action. Together each of these components influences decisions on a business and personal level. Companies use codes of ethics to dictate employee behavior when dealing with customers, vendors, investors, and coworkers. Codes of ethics incorporate characteristics of individual value systems, including honesty, integrity, trust, and fairness. The four-step process that governs ethical behavior includes character, obligation, results, and equity; these four traits also known as CORE. The Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory provides insight into individual value systems. An analysis of each individual value system provides confirmation that personal values are often the foundation for establishing organizational values. A clear understanding of these values makes ethical reasoning more effective. During the hiring process personal perspectives and preferences often go unchecked. A balanced approach is necessary when seeking to fill a vacant position.
