Explain the issues a business needs to consider in its operational activities.
What is business ethics?
Business ethics are moral principles that guide the way a business behaves. The same principles that determine an individual’s actions, it also applies to business.

Outline some ethical issues facing a business of your choice.
The business I’ve chosen is Tesco. Tesco faces a protest from the trade union Unite over the treatment of migrant workers in its meat and poultry supply chain at its annual meeting in Glasgow today.
Another issue Tesco faced is the horse meat scandal. Tesco said the horsemeat scandal had a "small but discernible impact" on frozen and chilled convenience food sales. Some Tesco Everyday Value Spaghetti Bolognese contains 60% horsemeat, DNA tests by the retailer have found. The meal, withdrawn from sale on Tuesday, came from the French factory producing Findus beef lasagne, also at the centre of a row over horsemeat. Meanwhile, Environment Secretary Owen Paterson has told MPs of plans to test all processed beef in the UK. Tesco Group technical director Tim Smith said: "The frozen Everyday Value Spaghetti Bolognese should contain only Irish beef from our approved suppliers. The source of the horsemeat is still under investigation by the relevant authorities. He also stated that "The level of contamination suggests that Comigel was not following the appropriate production process for our Tesco product and we will not take food from their facility again.” Sam smith also made a statement towards their customer saying “we are very sorry that we have let customers down."
Examine mission statement and aims and objectives of your business and indicate whether these take on board

Most production issues have been solved by a linear programming method, also performed here, and a model of linear programming of economic parameters in re- engineering of small and medium enterprises, for their greater efficiency, is presented. Key words: linear programming, re-engineering, economic parameters, model. 1.0. INTRODUCTION Linear programming is a mathematical method for selecting an optimal solution among larger number of possible solutions. In mathematical terms, linear programming is a mathematical analysis of optimum problem. These...

...Vm*(n1 + n2) = (v1.n1 + v2.n2) you can use this to find the final price of say two types of rice being mixed or final strength of acids of different concentration being mixed etc.... the ratio in which they have to be mixed in order to get a mean value of vm can be given as: n1/n2 = (v2 - vm)/(vm - v1) When three different ingredients are mixed then the ratio in which they have to be mixed in order to get a final strength of vm is: n1 : n2 : n3 = (v2 - vm)(v3 - vm) : (vm - v1)(v3 - vm) : (vm - v2)(vm - v1) 2. If from a vessel containing M units of mixtures of A & B, x units of the mixture is taken out & replaced by an equal amount of B only .And If this process of taking out & replacement by B is repeated n times , then after n operations, Amount of A left/ Amount of A originally present = (1-x/M)^n 3. If the vessel contains M units of A only and from this x units of A is taken out and replaced by x units of B. if this process is repeated n times, then: Amount of A left = M [(1 - x/M)^n] This formula can be applied to problem involving dilution of milk with water, etc... EXPLAINATION TO THE ABOVE FORMULA when you mix different quantities (say n1 and n2) of A and B, with different strengths or values v1 and v2 then their mean value vm after mixing will be: Vm = (v1.n1 + v2.n2) / (n1 + n2) (I assume that you understood this...[pic]) vm (n1 + n2) = v1 n1 + v2 n2 n1 (vm - v1) = n2 (v2 - vm) so, n1/n2 = (v2 - vm)/(vm - v1) ----> (1) similarly...

Wireless Physical Layer Security: an Information Theoretic Approach

...Wireless Physical Layer Security: An Information Theoretic Approach DISSERTATION Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Onur Ozan K¨yl¨o˘lu, B.S., M.S. o u g Graduate Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering The Ohio State University 2010 Dissertation Committee: Hesham El Gamal, Adviser C. Emre K¨ksal o Ness B. Shroff Atilla Eryılmaz c Copyright by Onur Ozan K¨yl¨ o˘lu o u g 2010 ABSTRACT We are in the midst of wireless revolution, and increasing demand continues for wireless applications. This explosive growth, of wireless communications and services, inevitably renders security into a challenging quality of service constraint that must be accounted for in the network design. The state of the art methods in combating the security threats are usually founded on cryptographic approaches. These techniques typically assume limited computational resources at adversaries, are usually derived from unproven assumptions, and most of the time do not offer a measurable security notion. Information theoretic security, on the other hand, eliminates the aforementioned limitations of the cryptographic techniques at the physical layer of communication systems. In this thesis, we concentrate on both the theoretical and the practical aspects of physical layer security. We first start by analyzing elemental interference networks, in particular, two-user channels with an adversary...
