The National Marine Aquarium has many external corporate communications to communicate with the customers and tourist. The aquarium uses different examples of corporate communication; logos, posters, advertisements, websites and sponsorship. They use this to attract customers and tourist to the aquarium which of course makes the aquarium successful.
National Marine Aquarium uses a website to communicate with their customers and tourist. They do this buy offering many links and pictures. They use a link called visitors information. This gives visitors all the information they need to know about the aquarium for example, opening times, buying tickets and tickets prices. The aquarium does this to let visitors know more information about the aquarium before they turn up. National Marine Aquarium uses a mixture of text, images and colours on there website. The pictures used on there websites is to give visitors an example of what to expect when they visit the aquarium and they use text to explain and give more information to visitors about the aquarium and what they offer. I think the National Marine Aquarium communicate with their visitors really well. Everything on their website makes me understand what the aquarium offers. The colours they have used on their website are blue, white and green. I think that these colour are water and marine colours. This mean that the aquarium has used the correct colours to give there tourist the correct image of there business.

The National Marine Aquarium uses a Logo. They use this to represent them selves. I think they’re logo represents the aquarium very well. This is because there logo looks like four fishes/dolphins in colours that represents the aquarium, as they're marine colours that is often used and thought about when thinking about marine objects and animals. The way the National Marine Aquarium represents their logo is by using a bland of colours that makes visitors remember the aquarium easily. They do this by using images and colours that would make you think about the aquarium. The aquarium uses these colours to promote their website because they are simple primary colours that is easily remembered. They use these colours because they link in with the water theme. They have also used the most popular sea creature they have in the aquarium within there logo. At the aquarium there are tons of fishes on show to look at. So using fishes and the colours used within the logo is a good way representing the aquarium. However, there main sea creature the use on there website to promote the aquarium is skoncel the turtle. The turtle …………
The National Marine Aquarium uses many different ways to advertise there business. They do this to attract visitors all cross the U.K to come and see what a wonderful marine life that the aquarium has to offer. The National Marine Aquarium uses colourful and attractive colours and images in there advertisements, such as: posters, YouTube clips, website, flyers and many more. They use advertisements to let people know what offers they got on or any new news to let there visitor know about. National Marine Aquarium also advertise there business to get more popular within the tourist industry, They advertise to promote there business. this helps them to receive more money and income in the business, which will use to make the aquarium better, also to make better advertisements to attract more visitors and tourist The National Marine Aquarium uses adverts to attract visitors and locals to visit the Aquarium. They showcase their creatures making them look really scary and amazing to look at for young children and adults. The Aquarium always shows their most scary creature, such as a shark, to make the Aquarium a place to remember. On their adverts they show activities for young children and a cafe for the adults to relax after seeing all the creatures. I think the National Marine Aquarium could advertise better clearly because I don’t see many advertisements for the National Marine Aquarium. Although, not having a huge interest in the aquarium could be why I think they don’t have many advertisements because I don’t look for them. Whereas someone who’s got an interest in going to the aquarium will see and lookout for more advertisement than I would.

The National Marine Aquarium has a strapline, which is ‘Closer than you think’. This strapline is used as a metaphor. The aquarium uses this strapline to help promote there business message. The strapline is used well in the business; this is because when looking at all the sea/marine animals you can see them close up as if you can touch them with your hands. This fits in well with the aquarium because all there sea animals is shown and presented in a way they look close up to you. I think there strapline presents and promotes the aquarium well because their strapline is very true and it’s doesn’t give false hope to the visitors and tourist. The National Marine Aquarium is sponsored by: The Local Council, Marine Academy Plymouth, The University and The Local Wildlife Trust. The Aquarium showcases their sponsorships to attract their customers to make them look good as an Aquarium. The Aquarium sponsors Marine Academy Plymouth because it's a Marine school. The Aquarium always looks for new sponsorships, this benefits the aquarium because the money they earned from the sponsorship makes the aquarium become a better place, for example, they could buy new tanks and fishes.. As I’ve already said, they have many of sponsorships all money from these sponsorships goes into making the aquarium a better place for education trips with a goal of providing equal opportunity for learning. ‘The National Marine Aquarium is the charity dedicated to raising awareness of the oceans, the challenges they face and the ways in which we can all help ensure they have a sustainable future’. http://www.national-aquarium.co.uk/.
I think the way they treat there sponsors is done very well. For example because they sponsor Marine Academy Plymouth, when it come round to year 11 prom, they offer them a cheap venue to hold there prom. The Local Wildlife Trust is also a good sponsorship because it fits in well with there business. This is because the aquarium main priority is to care and look after the marine animals they have in the tanks. So whatever they give to there sponsorships, they receive something back, which makes the aquarium a trusted organisation.

The Marine Aquarium always puts leaflets on show in the Aquarium to represent their tourist attraction. In their leaflets, they talk about their: history, creatures, cafe, activities, memberships and their shop. They talk about their history because it shows how long creatures and have been around and what age the creatures are that they hold in the Aquarium. The Aquarium holds over a thousand creatures from young to old. They have images of their cafe and play area to show their visitors it’s a place to rest and have fun after seeing all of the creatures and fishes they hold. In small boxes they show their sponsorship’s to show the Aquarium has a lot of sponsorships. In their leaflets they show everything you need, so you wont be lost when you visit the aquarium because its holds everything you need know to explore and have fun in the National Marine Aquarium. However I think they could you use better diagrams of the map of the aquarium, this is because I find there map every confusing and still get lost, meaning I don’t get to see everything they have in the aquarium. So I would recommend that they rethink about the layout of the map. Internal corporate communication.
The national marine aquarium uses livery to promote there business. This is a very effective way to advertise and promote the aquarium to the members of public. The National Marine Aquarium uses two types of livery. Which I believe is done through transport and clothing. Recently, the aquarium has had there logo and strapline advertised and promoted on public transport. I think is they done this very well because bus goes pretty much all around Plymouth meaning everyone will see there advertisement and will be tempted to go. Another way they use livery is by clothing, such as uniform. I believe this is a internal corporate communication. The uniform is a good way a representing and selling the business. However I feel that they’re uniform isn’t used in the terms of livery. I think this because they use a pole t-shirt with there logo on, however they’re logo is small so you can’t really see it. Another thing is that there uniform doesn’t use the corporate colour used on their logo and website. I feel that they should have a uniform that uses the corporate colours used on there logo. Like all business around the UK. The national marine aquarium has a mission state. The mission statement of the National Marine Aquarium is "Driving Marine Conservation through Engagement". It is dedicated to its charitable aims of research, education and conservation. The National Marine Aquarium is committed to being a centre of excellence in marine conservation and education in Europe. It aims to achieve this by running a world class tourist attraction and also through a comprehensive programme of research, conservation and education. There mission statement lets ne employees and members of public know what the national marine aquarium purpose and what there aims are in the future. I think there mission statement is written well and is following there aims and objective that they wish to achieve. I have nothing that I would recommend because they have a well written mission statement.
The national marine aquarium uses packaging and design. They use this on many of there product they have to sell, such us; food, drinks and the gifts you buy at the aquarium. There packaging is an important piece of corporate communication because it promotes and sells the aquarium to the member of public. Packaging is important as it promotes campaigns, and also it creates a brand identifies and shelf impact in all products groups. I think that the aquarium could improve on there packaging and design. This is because the bag they give you is just a plain white bag so it doesn’t advertise and promotes the aquarium very well. The aquarium the uses walky talkies within the aquarium. They do this to communicate with different staff members in the aquarium. This is an easy form of communication to use within the aquarium as they have staff scattered all over the place. In similar they also have a work phone that is used. These work phones is only used in the aquarium. These phones work in a different, for example each phone has a code which you type in to get hold of a member of staff within a different section of the aquarium.
Every month or so, the national marine aquarium has a meeting with nearly all the staff within the aquarium. These meeting are a way of communicating with all staff members to let know any news or information. Meetings will also the aquarium to talk about there profits and important staff that needs to be spoken about within the aquarium. However, due to some staff working silly hours, some may not be to get to the meeting, this means that whenever there’s a meeting that meeting minutes will be taken to give and show the staff who couldn’t attend the meeting. This meeting will have everything writing down about what got said or agreed on in the meeting.
Overall I think the National Marine Aquarium uses corporate communication really well, however they could do with some changes to some of them which will help succeed more as a tourist attraction. I personally think that could make a better design to there packaging, even if it just adding there logo on some bags, doing this would advertise them more then plain white bags. I also think they could uses livery more. This is because I don’t see many vans/cars or people wearing the uniform as much as I do with other business.. I think there most successful piece of corporate communication is there logo. I think they used all the right colour and images within there logo which easily links in with the aquarium.

The recommendations I would recommend would be

Finally, when visited the national marine aquarium they want to improve; Awareness, Enjoyment, Interest, Opinion and Under

...Countries INSEAD P4 Assignment MICROFINANCE in INDONESIA By Dewi BRAMONO Ming CHUNG Yoonmi EOM Kevin LAM Yenn Khan Executive Summary • • Microfinance in Indonesia can be traced back to more than a century ago, where village credit organizations (BKDs) offered small loans to villagers. Today, BRI unit desa of Indonesia is one of the most successful and profitable microfinance institutions in the world with more than 3.1 million borrowers with a gross loan portfolio of more than USD 1.7b as of Dec 2003. Indonesia’s successful experience in microfinance is further shown during the hard-hitting Asian Financial Crisis in 1997 to 1998. At a time when commercial banks were collapsing, savings in microfinance institutions rose from IDR 8 trillion in 1997 to about IDR16 trillion in 1998, as depositors sought the stability of these institutions. There are however some outstanding issues: o Inadequate outreach to the rural community o Politics impact the microfinance efforts negatively o Lack of awareness of microfinance among stakeholders o Microfinance may not be the answer for the poorest of the poor. Recommendations include: o Greater co-ordination required with the NGOs to target the poorest of poor, especially in the rural areas(through aid, training and provision of the infrastructure) o Increase the awareness of the benefits of microfinance, and to educate stakeholders accordingly. • • • Page 1 of 12 Economics and Management in Developing Countries INSEAD P4 Assignment ...
