Explain how software utilities can improve the performance of computer systems D1

Virus Protection

Virus protection improve the system performance by maintaining a healthy environment for the computer user to keep out malware that slow down system performance and the computer effectiveness this is because it stop malware from getting in the system, noticing or detecting any malware that is found in the system and it will eventually remove that malware from the computer. When the system becomes malware free its run smoothly and effectively without interference or performance downfall, without anti-virus protection malware will be on the system unnoticed. Unless you found it in your system then you can delete the malware, virus protection helps the user and this always speeds up the process as it is designed to perform this function.

Firewall helps to keep the system safe and keep a constant security aid the user to finish other tasks without interference from any malware.
Clean Up Tools

Clean up deletes files and data e.g. like temporary files, history, cookies and files in the recycling bin, it helps to free space and keep the systems performance from being sluggish due to the huge amount of unused files. Deleting these files helps to maintain a steady performance by not let it slow down files; this means the user can keep and maintain a stable system without the performance being slow.
