Should women really be defined by their body image and beauty? “The Fashion industry is no stranger to stereotypes, urging women that being supper thin without an ounce of body fat or carvers is the way to be sex. Contemporary society seems to believe that women are supposed to look certain way. The message on the Victoria secret ad, is trying to communicate by using “The perfect body” campaign to promote their lingerie line. This ad represents the ideal type of body that women should have to be attractive in today’s society. On the second ad, a ZU shoe is promoting its products, by using slander woman to persuade the viewers to buy their shoes. The two images depict the stereotype of the unobtainable and idealized version of perfect looking women by using body proportions, clothing and facial depiction. …show more content…
In both ads the women show their confidence through their facial expression. On EZ ads, the bob haircut and the blonde hair style give glamorous look on the pretty woman face. By the way the woman possess with chin up and eyes looking down, it shows her confidence and give her elegant looks. The story being told that woman who have perfect facial features have more confidence than who does not. Likewise; the women on Victoria Secret ads, showing their intense look by slightly smile to attract people. All of the women have a radiant long hair, which give them a perfect face shape and stunning look. The use of makeup that fits their complexion with light stain lipstick gives the women a natural looks. This implies that all the women look delighted about their facial features, beauty seems to dominate everyone. The two images communicate that for women to obtain perfect look, women should use artificial material, such as makeup, lipsticks and hair colors. They are known for their higher priced, sexy, and sometimes promiscuous clothing. Victoria’s Secret has come up with many different innovations after first opening their door, such as a make-up line, body care line, and PINK teenage line. The next logical step is for Victoria’s Secret to create a baby clothing line. The baby clothing line, entitled Baby Secret, would have various types of infant and toddler clothing, and would be classic and simple, yet fashion-forward. A focus group was interviewed to find out their feelings on the Victoria’s Secret brand as a whole, and the new baby line. From these findings, a rationale was built which helped form a new target segment, examples of possibly baby products, and recommendations of company changes in strategy and tactics.
