Tradigital Marketing

...TRADIGITAL MARKETING Submitted by: Rahul Singh Shubhankar Som Shivi Shrivastava Sathya Saurabh Sharma Saurabh Tirpude WHAT IS MARKETING? Marketing is the process of planning, designing, pricing and distributing ideas, goods and services in order to satisfy customer needs and generate revenue and make profit. To quote the American Marketing Association's definition, it is "an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, communicating and delivering value to customers and for managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organization and its stakeholders" Diluting all the verbosity, it melts down to one simple word “SELLING”!! This is the prime purpose behind any kind of marketing. The "selling" is accelerated with the help of properly chalked out plans called marketing strategies. With "selling" as the ultimate goal, marketing strategies are influenced by two basic factors: 1) Acquisition of customers; 2) Retention of the acquired customers. So every other strategy that is laid out will focus on the above two. A Company has to work closely towards achieving these two to attain the desired cutting edge over its competitors. There are also a few other objectives like creating awareness (informational and educational) about the product, brand-building and accelerating sales. CONCEPT OF TRADITIONAL MARKETING: With the world changing at every nanosecond, marketing is also reeling...

Cookies

...Is the use of technologies, such as "cookies", strategic to marketing goods and services online? What is the impact, if any, on consumer privacy? A few years ago, the combination of technology and marketing was not a common term. Even a very successful marketing model that was followed by software giant Microsoft, was neglected in many top ranking business schools. According to them what Microsoft was doing was a fad. But time has proved that they were wrong. Marketing guru Kotler has agreed that traditional marketing is not working any more. The economic power has shifted from marketers to customers. This shift happens in the market place due to the technology. Today customers have the access to information that lets them make much more informed decisions. Customers are increasingly telling companies what type of product or services they want and when, where and how they want to buy them. Before purchase a product or service, they compare each of the competitors' product and their pricing, availability and value for money. So customers are now in control. Customer's action and their demands are profoundly impacting every industry in the market. The use of technologies such as cookies is paramount to the implementation of such marketing practices, which ultimately benefit both the retailer and the consumer. Without these, retailers would not be able to fine-tune their marketing strategies and focus, and consumers would not be able to provide, through their actions...

Customer Loyalty in Uber India.

...CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 INTRODUCTION Customer loyalty is both an attitudinal and behavioral tendency to favor one brand over all others, whether due to satisfaction with the product or service, its convenience or performance, or simply familiarity and comfort with the brand.  Customer loyalty encourages consumers to shop more consistently, spend a greater share of wallet, and feel positive about a shopping experience, helping attract consumers to familiar brands in the face of a competitive environment. Types of Loyalty To understand customer loyalty one must recognize there are different types and degrees of loyalty.  There is monogamous loyalty and there is polygamous.  There are also behavioral and attitudinal aspects.  A look at these concepts will clarify what “customer loyalty” really is, and this is important because having a solid understanding of the concept is critical if one hopes to design a reward program where loyalty enhancement is the primary objective. Monogamous vs. Polygamous Loyalty We live in a world of polygamous, not monogamous loyalty.  For example, a person might shop at Safeway, Thrifty Foods and Save-on-Foods and unfailingly shop at all three.  The person is then loyal to them, but not to others, and yet 100% loyal to none.  In their book Loyalty Myths, Keiningham et al. (2005) suggest that “loyalty can in part be thought of as the probability a customer will purchase a brand on any particular purchase occasion.  For example, a customer...

Sony Music India

...Indian School of Business ISB007 February 15, 2013 Deepa Mani | Geetika Shah Sony Music (India) February 2012. Vivek Paul, Director of Digital Media Initiatives at Sony sat with Shridhar Subramaniam, President, India and Middle East, Sony Music Entertainment, in his Santa Cruz, Mumbai office and mulled over the remarkable changes that the music industry in India had witnessed over the past few years. With the rapid growth in Internet penetration and usage, technology was driving music production, access and consumption. Sales from digital platforms had surpassed sales from traditional physical formats, such as CDs and tapes. With the distribution of digital music in India largely skewed towards the telecom business, music was increasingly being accessed via mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets. Artists were reaching out to consumers directly through many innovative platforms, and live performances were gaining more traction. Independent (“indie”) artist business models were rising in popularity and creating further fragmentation in the market. Overall, the role of the recording company seemed to be diminishing. While some of the leading companies in the music industry were testing the waters in the digital space, new players, including technology companies, were quickly entering the market with various new platforms and services. Distribution, in the form of music streaming services and e-commerce sites, was changing the way music was being bought and consumed...

An Overview of Advertising

...theory in the twentieth century, who back in the 1920s, reminded us that the Latin root for advertising is advertere. This roughly translates as ‘to turn towards'. L.E Boone and D. Kurtz, (1998) Advertising is a specific type of marketing that brings a product to the attention of consumers and may be delivered through a variety of media channels such as television, radio, print, billboards, personal contact and the internet. Advertising is a very effective method to convey the company's message to its target market. In olden days there was no such concept of advertising because people would only buy products. They were only concerned about the utility of the product. The scenario changed with the passage of time and the marketers started something different. They associated the products with emotions, life style, style etc. With the passage of time the market got bigger and it was difficult to have one product for all the market so the marketers divided the markets into different groups having different needs and wants. This method is known as segmentation. So the market segment I am going to discuss that's affected by advertising is the youth. 1.2 Impact on Youth J. M. McGinnis et al (2006); The term youth marketing used in the marketing and advertising industry to describe activities to communicate with young people, typically in the...

Manager

...Learning with Cases INTRODUCTION The case study method of teaching used in management education is quite different from most of the methods of teaching used at the school and undergraduate course levels. Unlike traditional lecture-based teaching where student participation in the classroom is minimal, the case method is an active learning method, which requires participation and involvement from the student in the classroom. For students who have been exposed only to the traditional teaching methods, this calls for a major change in their approach to learning. This introduction is intended to provide students with some basic information about the case method, and guidelines about what they must do to gain the maximum benefit from the method. We begin by taking a brief look at what case studies are, and how they are used in the classroom. Then we discuss what the student needs to do to prepare for a class, and what she can expect during the case discussion. We also explain how student performance is evaluated in a case study based course. Finally, we describe the benefits a student of management can expect to gain through the use of the case method. WHAT IS A CASE STUDY? There is no universally accepted definition for a case study, and the case method means different things to different people. Consequently, all case studies are not structured similarly, and variations abound in terms of style, structure and approach. Case material ranges from small caselets (a few paragraphs...
