We are going to be on the WALB News! I feel ecstatic right now. Even though only Albany will see, I feel like a movie star. Mrs.Holmes, our teacher, has been voted Teacher of the Year in Albany; however we have to make a photo album of ourselves. We will take the pictures of us having fun at our school (Robert A. Cross Middle School) and then immediately send them to the WALB News Station. The reason we have to take the pictures all in one day is because that is when Mrs.Holmes gets a new camera in order to get clear bright pictures. The camera she has now does not even work half of the time, so we all donated a little money to her for a high quality camera. Everybody is saying that the news reporters might even take a class picture tomorrow! …show more content…
I quickly brushed my hair, put on my clothes, and got into the car with a bowl of cereal in my hand. My mom was driving very fast and then she had to jam on the brakes and her thermo of coffee spilled on the car floor and my bowl of cereal and milk splattered all over my new, $75 dress! When I got to school, my mom went back home to get me some clothes and brought them to school. I changed and Mrs.Holmes told me the worst news. Mrs.Holmes was a very kind and generous lady. I knew she would not play a trick on me. “ I’m sorry but the news reporters already came and took one big picture of the whole class---without you,” Mrs.Holmes said with a depressing voice. I just stood there with a horrible, aching feeling in my throat and stomach. Was she lying to me? I did not know what to say. I have been looking forward to this for months. I bought a $75 dress, did my hair for an hour the night before, and told everybody in my family to watch me on the WALB News.
“Maybe the news reporters will not talk about our class,” said my best friend Katie. As I rode my bike home that day I realized that I had just had the worst day ever. I went home and turned on the
