2.

My final assignment in Com/155 is to analyze two paragraphs, written by two unknown writers; I chose paragraphs three and four. In each individual paragraph, the writers’ attention is on informing the reader about the various processes associated with credit. In paragraph three, the writer began his or her text, by giving examples as to why a person is not eligible for credit. It further explains in the text that upon denial, you would receive a letter from the Fair Credit Reporting Act, documenting the terms of its refusal. Paragraph four opened up by acknowledging that most consumers understand the security and stability of a good credit score; the text further explained the process involved in calculating a credit rating. The writer of paragraph three, style of writing appeared choppy and fragmented; the writer was very repetitious in his or her use of words. Paragraph four lacked the necessary purpose to support the content with in the text. Both paragraphs were affective in there individual ideas, of informing the reader about the do and do not, in regards to obtaining and maintaining credit; still there were some unanswered questions. Paragraph three is the more informative of the two, having purpose, giving examples of why one is denied credit, and content, informing you on the letter you will receive to establish credit.

Apron completion of my final draft, of my final assignment, I submitted the results to Write Point. The processes of having my assignment checked, was not long, only a matter of minutes. Write Point checked my assignment for plagiarism and gave me suggestions on correcting errors in my assignment. When it did its plagiarism check, it checked the web and various databases to see if my assignment was authentic. The results were my assignment was genuine. Some of the suggestions it gave me for correcting my assignment, was to write out numbers under ten, remove commas (unless introducing a nonrestrictive phrase) and correct commonly misused words. It also gave me a doctorial rule not to use “getting”, which it stated could mean anything. It suggested for me to use words like receive, obtain, arrive at; can, could, grow and able to. It also ask me not to start a sentence with a conjunction, it said it is not academic acceptable. I followed through with the majority of the suggestions I received from Write Point, although there was one I questioned, the doctorial rule. That suggestion alone had me to rewrite half of my assignment, in order to make the suggestion fit. Write point, is a very affective tool that I will be using in the future.

4.

Is Write Point an option, I want to use in the future? Being honest, I have been aware of Write Point, since my two-week workshop class doing my introduction to college. I have been giving previous instructions to explore the various tools located in the Center for Writing Excellence, including Write Point. Navigating to Write Point is easy, just right click on library, and go to the Center for Writing Excellence and click on submit a paper for grammar and plagiarism review. Once there, you have to use the browser to find your paper, you then have the option to use Write Point, the Plagiarism Checker or both. You will receive the results in a matter of minutes, just left click your mouse and click refresh. I will be using Write Point in the future, I am quite sure there will be various requirements for it. This is my first experience using Write Point, I feel very confident with its process.

Online Education vs Face to Face

...Online education versus face-to-face Nicole Mackie COM/155 November 24, 2012 Lezli Pearson Online education versus face-to-face There are several reasons online schooling is better than traditional schooling. Online schooling gives better delivery of the material. Traditional schools will often charge more than online classes. There is more flexibility for students with other commitments in online education. Online schooling requires dedication, discipline, and a distraction-free-environment, but online is better because it allows flexibility and often charges less than traditional schools. Concerning grading papers, online is so much faster than traditional. Because all online students work at different paces and when done with assignments can send them right in for grading not having to wait for the next class session, allowing the teacher to grade or send correction feedback before the assignment is due. This also gives the teacher time to look over them as they come in, a few at a time instead of 25 all on the same day because of class schedules. With online classes grading for papers is easier because everything is transmitted via a computer which calculates how many words are in the paper, where as traditional schooling the teachers have to count each word of everyone’s papers and if you have 25 students it, can take more of your time just making sure they have enough words. With online classes it has been my experience that if I have questions I can get them...

Are You Influenced by Politians or Preachers

...Richard Braceful Com/155 University Composition and Communication 1 Week 9 Assignment Are you influenced by Politicians or Preachers? The masses of people are controlled by the few leaders we pledge our allegiance to. Would you kill if you were asked by a leader? Would you sacrifice your life at the request of a leader, for the common good? These are the questions that reveal the influence that politicians and preachers have over our lives. I can remember, countless number of times, I have made a decision based on purely affiliation. Without a second thought of my own, I reasoned that “if Mr. Democratic Politician or Reverend Do Right said this it must be true”. I was influenced to make a decision by someone outside of me. Let me state this emphatically, everyone has someone that is able to influence their decisions from time to time. We place a great deal of trust in the elective process. When a government official goes through the rigorous process of election, we feel we have someone in office we can trust. There are times when we give them our blanket seal of approval without further investigation. We do the same thing with those men that stand behind a pulpit and speak to us every, Saturday, Sunday or whenever we meet. They take a stand on something and we follow then because of the place that they stand every time we meet there. They say, “Vote this way “, and without question we vote that way, because Reverend Do Right can’t be wrong! There are times when we give...
