What are your dreams of the future? Now looking back at everything you have done what you would you like to change?

Getting clear about our dreams for the future helps us to crystallize our goals and prioritize the things that are really most important to us. It also helps to focus our attention and efforts on the things we can do to make our dreams a reality. And the evidence shows that it can make us happier as a result.
I would like to be happy forever in the future. Being happy is a state of mind and I wish to be in that state forever. It doesn’t matter what I do on the career front or on my personal front, but I want happiness to be associated throughout with me. This is because I have learnt that only if a person is happy is he able to make people around him happy. This is how happiness multiplies. My goal setting would be on the basis of doing the things I love. The things that give me happiness, no matter how small or petty they may look or sound.
Looking back at everything I have done, one thing I would like to change if I could is the time I have spent in my education and gaining degrees. This time spent could have been even more productive. Nevertheless, I wish to fill up the remaining life with happiness by having a healthy balance between my work-life. This is what makes a difference. Spending time with loved ones is something that has no price.
To sum it up, my dreams of the future are to have realistic and measurable goals whose ultimate result is happiness. Stress has done good to nobody and hence I seek to have a proper balance between work and life.

The Alchemist

...abandoned church. The roof had fallen in long ago, and an enormous sycamore had grown on the spot where the sacristy had once stood. He decided to spend the night there. He saw to it that all the sheep entered through the ruined gate, and then laid some planks across it to prevent the flock from wandering away during the night. There were no wolves in the region, but once an animal had strayed during the night, and the boy had had to spend the entire next day searching for it. He swept the floor with his jacket and lay down, using the book he had just finished reading as a pillow. He told himself that he would have to start reading thicker books: they lasted longer, and made more comfortable pillows. It was still dark when he awoke, and, looking up, he could see the stars through the halfdestroyed roof. I wanted to sleep a little longer, he thought. He had had the same dream that night as a week ago, and once again he had awakened before it ended. He arose and, taking up his crook, began to awaken the sheep that still slept. He had noticed that, as soon as he awoke, most of his animals also began to stir. It was as if some mysterious energy bound his life to that of the sheep, with whom he had spent the past two years, leading them through the countryside in search of food and water. "They are so used to me that they know my schedule," he muttered. Thinking about that for a moment, he realized that it could be the other way around: that it was he who had become accustomed to their...

...Running head: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Past, Present and Future Brandon M. Kilmade PSY 202 Professor Ramsey June 8, 2009 Past, Present and Future Things are finally starting to come together for me in my 35th year in this adventure called life. I have been through ups and some major downs in my lifetime and everything that I have experienced has had a part in why I am the way I am today. Little did I know that my past would have a great effect on my future, as well. I sit here today with a clear image of who I want to be and what it will take to uphold that image. I know where I want to be and how to get there, now I just need to let life take its course and wait. This is a journey of my life past, present and future. Growing up as the youngest child of three was quite an advantage for me. I got to see firsthand what not to do and who not to hang out with. This only helped me to be more aware and to be careful. Universal changes are common to every individual in a species and are linked to specific ages (Boyd & Bee, 2006). I was in class way before I ever stepped foot in a classroom. Life lessons I learned before my life had really begun. I came from a loving but dysfunctional family setting. I cannot really say that I had the best role models to look up to or follow. My parents split up when I was eight years old. My dad was a deadbeat and my Mother had to provide for us on her own. Needless to say her best was not enough and we still needed help to...

Please do this by answering the questions that follow. (You may want to review the answers that you submitted from the Phase 2 Discussion Board. You will want to also review your instructor’s feedback and integrate changes as necessary.) 1. What three success strategies (from the Student Success Strategies Guide) will you plan on using throughout your degree program to help you be a successful student? The 3 strategies that I have chosen to adopt are making a “to-do list”, breaking larger projects down into more manageable chunks and balancing work and school. 2. Why will these strategies be most beneficial to you? MS can challenge your cognitive abilities and mess with your short-term memory. The longer I manger this disease the more I see this symptom. With that being said, making lists of what I need to get accomplish will be a great help. I see this as an on-going living list that will change often. I see this being an electronic list so priorities can be rearranged and updated easier. Breaking tasks into more manageable chunks I think will be essential to my success. I sometimes get so wrapped up in the over size of a project and get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. This will be helpful at work as well because I am the only Project Administrator for five Project Managers. When you think of taking...

[0:02:27] What I decided was that I was going to do -- that he had conducted a 56 year experiment to determine and document what one individual could achieve that could not be accomplished by any religion, government, organization of any kind. So it’s basically what one man can do and he documented it and I said, “Well, when somebody does an experiment, you don’t just archive it away. You actually examine it.” So that’s what I’d spent the last 30 years doing literally. ...America to have a better life and hope to achieve a dream that they want. They think that America will provide them the sense of freedom, equality, and peace the long for. In John Steinbeck’s book, Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie dream of living together on a farm where they can find happiness. George reassures Lennie that once money comes in they will be able to go after this dream. However, it seems that the characters cannot reach that dream by the end of the story because situations have changed. Steinbeck sees the American Dream as a way to give people hope that is shown through the dialogue and the interactions between the characters but the dream cannot be achieved because things get in the way of it. The dialogue between the characters show that they hope each person's dream can be achieved. Crooks believes in their dream and offers to work for them. He says that “if [they] … would want a hand to work for nothing—just his keep, why [he'd] come an' lend a hand (pg. 76).” Crooks wanted a better life and he thought that living with George and Lennie would be better. He would prefer to be a servant than to live on his own in the struggling times. He jumps in their idea because he sees that it could really benefit him if he took part. Candy also joins in on the idea of this farm dream because it could help him out. He knows that they can “make some money on them rabbits if [they] go about it right (pg. 75).” He then goes on to say “Me an’ Lennie an’ George. We gonna have a room...
