...Personification is an example of figurative language that is most commonly interpreted by giving a non-human thing human characteristics. Personification is a main tool in many exiting novels, as it gives the reader a feeling of suspense, which drags the reader into the novel. There are many examples of personification in the novel “Wolf Brother” one of my favorite one is, “The only sounds were the trees whispering” (P.93). I chose this personification because it gives me a feeling of suspense, worry and most important of all it makes me question. You might wonder, what does this tell you? Why does it give you a feeling of suspense? Well if you apply your knowledge “Wolf Brother” and relate it to this you might get some convenient answers. In this case and in this part of the book, it is trying to give a feeling of fear, a feeling of darkness and loneliness, as it shows that there was no soul around, and if you would walk in their you could only hear the trees whispering, by that they mean the trees swaying side to side, which give you a image of dark, sad and a scared space. As you think on, you start to question and wonder. Why was their no soul around? Did everyone get scared and ran away? If so what caused them to run away?
