1. Prioritize: Make a list of things you need to do and then put them in order from most important to least important. “We need to understand the work that has the biggest impact on our business and truly requires a greater sense of urgency and quality than other work” (5 Benefits of Prioritizing Work). Remember, everything is not a priority and some things can truly wait. Also there is a sense of satisfaction when you can check something off your list.
2. Remove Distractions: You cannot truly focus on a task if your attention is constantly being draw to your favorite television character, text messages, or your work is being interrupted with a jam session. Know what will distract you from your work and remove it from your work environment. Whether it be a cell phone, music, or food get rid of it.

Set a date: Give yourself a due date. By setting a specific time the task has to be accomplished, it will force you to do it. It is hard to finish anything if it never really has a set time it needs to be done, just ask any high school student, if it doesn’t have a due date, they aren’t going to do it. If your project is due a specific day- say a paper for school- make your due date sooner. Students tend to overestimate how much time they really have to do a project (Cherry). Also tell someone when your due date is. “Research suggests that telling a friend or colleague that you are going to complete a task by the end of the day reduces the amount of self-control that the brain has to exert when we are trying to do the right thing” (White). This means that by telling someone you are going to finish your task by a specific time will actually make it easier to

...1. Introduction What is the goal or the idea behind risk management one of their focus is to reduce the financial risk other areas that may seem not important is the regulation. One of the principal issues facing health care risk management is governmental regulation. Over the last few decades, there has been a growing public demand for accountability in health care delivery. The consequent tightening of governmental regulation has led to a greater allocation of an organization's resources to regulatory compliance. Some states, including New York, enacted stringent incident reporting requirements for hospitals, requiring additional staff to investigate and prepare such reports. Additionally, competition among hospitals has also fostered a greater concern over the community's perception of quality of care. Many hospitals have had to compete harder for patients as inpatient lengths of stay decrease and more procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. General estimates of this human error contribution have increased over the years, from a low of around 20% in the 1960s to values in excess of 80% in the 1990s. Human error in aviation is somewhat of a sensitive topic due to the recent tragic events of September 11, 2001. ...How do Global Retail Companies utilize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? “A Comparative Study using Hennes & Mauritz (Sweden) and UNIQLO (Japan)” Authors: Greg Jogie Ayaz Shukat Master thesis – FE2413 Spring 2010 Supervisor: Eva Wittbom How do Global Retail Companies utilize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? Abstract Abstract Corporations around the world are today acknowledging more and more the need of long-term sustainability strategies integrated into their core businesses. This has led to the use of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. H&M and UNIQLO are no different. They are established global retailing companies and heavily affected by the consumers demand of a sustainable work process. The demands are often heard when news hits of problems in the supply-chain. This can be issues like unsatisfactory working conditions in factories, environmental issues caused by production and general imbalance of labor policies. Such problems have put pressure on the companies to enact a proper reporting framework for their sustainability efforts and that is the focus of this thesis. The objective is to understand how well the organizations‘ have been using CSR and the goal is to look at their behavior within their supply chain processes and their environmental focus. We will then benchmark them according to the sustainability measurement framework called Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GRI is a framework widely used by the top global companies...
