It’s fair to say, everything that happens either it is good or bad, is a learning lesson to make me stronger. In fact, there are other things in my life that give me the strength to go on such as my family, my church life, music, electronics, and most of all my grandmother in her absence. The cross also means that God had sent his only begotten son to die for our sins on a cross at Calvary. The importance of the cross in my life, is that I know that I am saved, and if Jesus has never died on that cross, then my soul would’ve never been cleansed by his blood. The Importance Of West Sixth Brewing

...West Sixth Brewing is having a huge impact on the city of Lexington. They are not only a brewery, but also a place of gathering for the community. West Sixth is unique in their own way. They don’t follow the steps of other breweries. Instead, they make their own path and do things the right way. The West Sixth guys didn’t create their business just to make some money. They wanted to create a place that would bring people closer together and would help out the community. Nobody wants to go to a new place and see restaurants and businesses that you see everyday. People want to come to a city and see unique places that would only be found in that certain place. I think that is what makes West Sixth so great. If people come to the city of Lexington they will remember West Sixth because of how unique and different it was. People will talk about how friendly everyone was and how welcomed they felt. Personality Reflection Paper

...Personality Reflection Paper Debbie Cooper PSY/250 July 30, 2012 AnneySnyder Personality Reflection Paper The following will reflect this researchers understanding and reflection on personality, how it defines one, what it means, and if one’s personality changes to fit certain situations. At the end this researcher may have a better insight into herself as well as the personalities of others. This insight can help her in her future endeavors. Personality I would define personality as what makes each individual different. Each human being’s personality is as unique as they are. While most people define personality to describe another’s more apparent characteristics, psychologists use personality to try to give reason to similar personalities reacting differently in the exact same single occurrence. For example, individuals with identical backgrounds, motivations, and experiences react very differently to a single event. Some believe that we are each born with our personalities; however I believe that we are born with certain inherent traits while the rest develop because of our environment and our experiences. One’s personality allows one to be expressly unique and exceptional. It is what defines us as individuals and separates us from others. Key Personality Features Some key features that define who I am are responsible, loyal, trustworthy, honest, dedicated, open-minded, respectful, patient, and courteous. Responsible because I care about those in my charge and...

Summary Of Hair Still Matters By Ingrid Banks

...This was an effective start because it drew the reader in with something they likely had heard about at some point, and if they had not, it informed them of it. The topic was Venus Williams hair at the Australian Open for tennis- braided with beads in it. Banks says that was the moment she realized “…hair STILL matters for black women…” (Banks, 2004, 144). An important section of the paper is when she discusses more historical ideas of what hair means. She mentions Freud as a theorist who was interested in the social importance of hair (Banks, 2004, 144). Banks builds up to discussing her own unique research by looking at the research of others. I found this very effective in ensuring the reader stays...

Philosophy of Education

...Philosophy of Education This paper focuses on my personal philosophy of education. Many educators cringe when they hear people ask what their philosophy of education is. This paper offers techniques and strategies that educators can implement when writing their personal philosophies. Also included in this paper are my belief statements on my personal philosophy on education. Lastly, my paper discusses the influences that have helped shaped my philosophy on education. “Your personal philosophy is not just a written statement. It is a perspective that involves your beliefs and values and becomes the basis from which you make decisions about what is important and about your role as an educator” (Armstrong, Henson, & Savage, 2009, p. 278). Through experience and research I wholeheartedly believe that developmentally appropriate practice is the best model for early childhood education. Children learn exceptionally well when in an environment that encourages play and exploration. Being a part of a preschool program it is my goal that the environment should provide experiences that are interactive and engaging for the age levels of the children it serves. Play is a powerful tool that benefits children’s intellectual, social, emotional, physical and language development. Writing a teaching philosophy can be a very daunting task, Montell (2003) suggests, “reflecting on what you don't like can give you insights about what you do like," and that can help...

I Love Sports Analysis

...to win the game against the Miami Heat. That image of Kobe shooting over Dwyane Wade has ever since been stuck in my head leading me to many childish fantasies of me hitting a game winning shot in game 7 of the finals to win the championship like Kobe did. That buzzer beater by Kobe was the first of many game winning plays I saw watching sports including the most recent of them which was a game tying hail mary by Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs to send the game to overtime against the Arizona Cardinals. However, in that time I have seen many instances where players have had the chance to make a crucial game winning play at the end of the game but failed to do so. One of the biggest recurring things I’ve seen over the years are missed free throws in clutch moments of games by really good free throw shooters, which made me thinking how can some people make several clutch shots repetitively while some superstars choke...

Social Psychology Definition Paper

...Social Psychology Definition Paper Social psychology is fairly new, and an important aspect of human psychology. This paper will define social psychology and how it differs from other disciplines, such as clinical psychology, general psychology, and sociology. This paper will also describe the types of research in social psychology. Researching these elements will be informative and exciting. When we, as human beings, do something to influence a situation, there are probably some motives behind our influences. Some influences happen as a matter of resonance bouncing off other planned influences. Other influence may be unintentional. For example, if a child were to be talked down to and verbally abused for a period of time this may influence self-esteem. If a child were to be encouraged and praised for their efforts throughout their childhood that may also influence self-esteem in a different way. At times, we may relate to some people better than others because of past social influences we have experienced with others in those environments. For example, if a woman were to meet someone and that person looked like, and reminded her of a rapist, that may influence the way she looks at that person. All of this brings us within the realms of social psychology. “Social psychology is a science that studies the influences of our situations, with special attention to how we view and affect one another. More precisely, it is the scientific studies of how people think about, influence...

Effects of Divorce in Children

...Divorce has become the norm in American society, but what has not become the norm are the effects that it has on children. Divorce impacts all individuals connected to the relationship but children are effected the most. Because of their innocence and immaturity they are not able to cope with the stressful events and aftermath of divorce like adults are able to. No one knows exactly how a child will react to divorce but more than not their behavior can be characterized as explosive and sporadic. The purpose of this research paper is to provide credible information on the effects that divorce has on children and the impact that it makes on their overall outlook on life before and after the divorce occurred. It will also highlight the stress that comes along with the relationship between parent and child as well as some insight on common practices used to help the children cope with the overall impact of divorce. Last but not least I will be adding some insight from my own personal experience about the effects of divorce. The demise or end of marriage has various and lasting effects on everyone connected to the couple going through that situation. Along with that comes a huge amount of stress, ill willed feelings, confusion, emptiness, and a plethora of other things that I would need three more pages to list. Children are the most vulnerable to the effects of these things. With their simple mind set and understanding of things, the concept of daddy and mommy not living...
