What is WhatsApp?
WhatsApp Messenger is the World’s most elite cross-platform mobile messaging application with over 500 million users. WhatsApp Inc. was founded in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, whom both are former employees of Yahoo! (WhatsApp Blog, 2014)
How does it work?
WhatsApp can be used on any internet capable device that incorporates a (SIM) subscriber identification module card, it uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing and there is no cost to message and stay in touch with clients, business partners and so forth. In addition to basic messaging WhatsApp users can create groups, send other users unlimited images, video and audio media messages. (WhatsApp Blog, 2014)
Business communication
Communication with consumers and (B2B) businesses to form strong healthy relationships are crucial aspects for any business, enabling to promote deals and close sales. Many firms already use social networking to communicate with their target market; although this can often be seen as a form of spamming. WhatsApp communicates in a more personalized way where current and potential consumers can be contacted through their personal mobile phone enabling loyal strong relationships. The opportunity to share eye-catching e-brochures of your company/product/services by using WhatsApp is one of many attributes. (WhatsApp Blog, 2014)
Ethical Issues
Many ethical issues arise when dealing with communication, most major concerns relate to that of security and privacy. Until August 2012, messages sent through the WhatsApp service were not encrypted; everything was sent and received in plaintext which made it accessible to Hackers. During this time people

What you’ll find is that this app is extremely similar to the iOS version, it having the ability to snap photos, edit them in brief, and send them out to several social networks. This Android version is said to be superior to the iOS version in several ways by its developers. This app got extremely popular on iOS because it allowed (and still allows) you to do three different activities in one app – photography, sharing, and editing of photos. Here on Android you’ve got several of those abilities built in – the HTC One series in-particular has some pretty amazing photo editing, taking, and sharing abilities. INTRODUCTION An important application for the tech-savvy crowd, Instagrams are all about the beauty of capturing moments through man-made lenses and sharing it with your near and dear! As Will Smith says “ Life is not about number of breadths you take, it is about number of moments take your breath away”. Moments like that don’t happen everyday, but can be captured and cherished for the rest of your lives, thanks to the app called Instagram! Instagrams are solely for...

Android: Is Open Source Better for the Masses?

...Android: Is Open Source Better for the Masses? Jarrod R. Worlitz ITT Technical Institute, Sylmar Campus EN1420 Abstract This paper makes the argument that Google’s Android Operating System and the open source platform it provides is superior to its major competitor, Apple’s closed source iOS. The focus will be on how the ecosystem of “smartphones” and other mobile devices (such as tablets and phablets) has been impacted by Google, Inc.’s decision to release the Android Operating System as “Open Source Software” (OSS), allowing for a wider adoption of the platform than was achievable by Apple Inc.’s iPhone, whose marketing strategy and decision to is control both hardware and software. The claim will be supported by explaining the superiority of Android in terms of its benefits to manufacturers, consumers, and software developers. Android: Is Open Source is Better for the Masses? One of the fastest growing technologies is mobile computing. This fascinating trend in communication was propelled in large by the introduction of smartphones. Smartphones provide instant access to information and programs only previously available users from a desktop PC. To be clear, there are many other such mobile devices on the market that do not qualify as phones, such as tablets and “phablets” (a hybrid phone and tablet) however their roots can be traced back to two major platforms. These platforms are maintained by some of the largest companies in a competitive market. The two...

Usa Today Case Study

...considered gimmicky and insubstantial, it gradually developed a reputation for higher quality while increasing its circulation and advertising revenues at a time when few papers were experiencing growth. The features that originally set it apart are abundant colorful graphics, very brief stories, and a concentration on sports and celebrity, have influenced other newspapers. To date, USA Today remains the widest circulated print newspaper in the United States. Issues Cultural shifts and aging An increasing number of potential consumers have been shown to dislike reading newspaper. In order to combat this, USA Today should add sections that appeal to a younger audience, such as fashion and/or entertainment news. This will not only attract younger consumers, but also attract female consumers who do not currently make up a large portion of USA Today’s customer base. Technology There has been a shift in recent years to reading newspapers online or on e-readers, such as the Kindle or Nook. USA Today currently has a version of the newspaper available for the Kindle, but they should also add a version for the Nook. Also, they should promote their online website as a source for receiving the same news as the print version, but much faster and easier. The company should also focus on expanding their iPhone and Android Apps so consumers, particularly younger ones, can view the news directly on their phones. Competition The competition in the industry is fierce. WSJ took away the...
