The book where the red fern grows is a story about a boy. And how he wants two coonhounds. What He does to get them is incredible. He worked all day and all night for just fifty dollars. He achieves his goals and got the fifty dollars, and went to get his hounds.

First the book describes a boy and his three sisters. He lives a normal life like any other young boy his age. He was fishing until he found a magazine with two beautiful coonhounds for sell. He worked everyday selling fruits and other stuff to scrap up fifty dollars. It really payed off because a little after a year he was on his way to get them at the train station in tahlequah. On his way home he ran into some kids they were picking on him so he beat them up over his dogs.after the coondogs grew up he trained them to go hunting, and finally took them to a competition. …show more content…
The movie had less detail than the book did. It tells a story about billy and in the movie he had two sisters. Billy was trying to save money for two precious hound dogs he seen in the back of a truck. He wanted a pair of them coonhounds so bad he saved up for almost a year just to get them. He trained the dogs to behave and trained them to hunt so he could take them to a competition.

Lastly, in the book and the movie there were some differences. He promised his sister that he would give her the golden cup if he won. Otherwise in the movie he didn't even talk to his sisters about the golden cup. In the movie he said he only wanted to bury the dogs himself he didn't get to in the movie his pa did it for him. There were no guns in the movie unlike the book there were guns. When they were hunting in the book they cut a tree with three coons in it but in the movie they didn't even mention a tree with coons in it. The book had three little sisters and the movie had two

The first two, Miss Keller's story and the extracts from her letters, form a complete account of her life as far as she can give it. Much of her education she cannot explain herself, and since a knowledge of that is necessary to an understanding of what she has written, it was thought best to supplement her autobiography with the reports and letters of her teacher, Miss Anne Mansfield Sullivan. A Tale of Three Lions

...A Tale of Three Lions Haggard, Henry Rider Published: 1887 Type(s): Short Fiction, Adventure Source: http://www.gutenberg.org 1 About Haggard: Henry Rider Haggard was born at Bradenham, Norfolk, to Sir William Meybohm Rider Haggard, a barrister, and Ella Doveton, an author and poet. He was the eighth of ten children. He was initially sent to Garsington Rectory in Oxfordshire to study under the Reverend H.J. Graham but, unlike his older brothers who graduated from various Public Schools, he ended up attending Ipswich Grammar School. This was because his father, who regarded him as somebody who was not going to amount to much, could no longer afford to maintain his expensive private education. After failing his army entrance exam he was sent to a private ‘crammer’ in London to prepare for the entrance exam for the British Foreign Office, which in the end he never sat. Instead Haggard’s father sent him to Africa in an unpaid position as assistant to the secretary to the Lieutenant-Governor of Natal, Sir Henry Bulwer. It was in this role that Haggard was present in Pretoria for the official announcement of the British annexation of the Boer Republic of the Transvaal. In fact, Haggard raised the Union Flag and was forced to read out much of the proclamation following the loss of voice of the official originally entrusted with the duty. As a young man, Haggard fell deeply in love with Lilith Jackson, whom he intended to marry once he obtained paid employment in South Africa...

Why does Lewis Carroll introduce us to such oddities as a blue caterpillar who smokes a hookah, a cat whose grin remains after its head has faded away, and a White Queen who lives backward and remembers forward? Is it all just nonsense? Was Carroll under the influence? This book probes the deeper underlying meaning in the Alice books and reveals a world rich with philosophical life lessons.
