Why Do People Born Good

.One reason that people are born good is that even when the Germans came into town and started to live in other people’s homes the Jews were still optimistic. A quote to prove that statement is on page 8 “The Germans were already in power in town, the Fascists were already in power, the verdict had already been pronounced, yet the Jews of Sighet continued to smile’’. That proves that people are good at heart, but when under harsh conditions it tests the persons personality and some people pass the test and stay good while others turn to the path of evil. A quote from page 22 states “"Look at the fire! Look at the flames! Flames everywhere…Once again, the young men bound and gagged her. When they actually struck her, people shouted their approval…Keep her quite! Make that madwoman shut up…She received several blows to the head, …show more content…
Schächter for showing their fear of the Germans. Those two quotes show people are born good at heart but when rough times come people are tested to see how strong their good heart is. A second reason why people are born good is that when time is very hard people if try hard very deep inside themselves they will find the good and help others and give each other advice on survival. For example when all the Jews were being questioned a man came up to Eliezer and Father telling them to say that should lie about their ages and say they are 18 and 40 so they were not killed right away but sent to work. There is a quote that proves my idea on page 28 “No, not fifty. Forty. Do you

...One What It Means To Be To be Born Again 1. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2. The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:1-3,7. In this passage, Jesus had a discussion with a man called Nicodemus. Jesus was at home one night when Nicodemus came to him. Nicodemus was a very important person in town. He could have been a Member of Parliament or the Chairman of the Metropolitan Assembly. Perhaps, he was a patron of the Methodist Church, the Catholic Church or the Lighthouse Church. He was a very important person. The Bible says he was a ruler of the Jews, a master of Israel, a leader in the synagogues. Nicodemus would not come to see Jesus during the day. He came at night, so that all the people who respected him would not see him. This prominent Jewish leader said something to Jesus, which prompted Him to give an interesting reply. When you look at the passage, you wonder why Jesus said all that he said to the man. After all, Nicodemus did not ask him, “How can I go to heaven?” He said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except...

Nature or Nature

...nurture issue of sport is very controversial. When we come to talk about great athletes we tend to ask ourselves a question that has been around every since sports have started- are great athletes born or made? From my experiences, and other professional athlete’s experiences, I can tell you that they are made. I believe that you can achieve anything life if you want it bad enough, and are willing to do everything you can to achieve it. For instance, NBA great Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers is an un-athletic, skinny person who overcame leg deformities as a child that prevented him from walking. He had to wear leg braces for several years until his leg problems were corrected enough for him to start walking again. Eventually, Miller went on to play in the NBA for 13 seasons, while setting the record for most 3-point shots made (Beyond the Glory: Reggie Miller 2004). Therefore, in my opinion, Miller was not a “born” athlete. I feel that he worked hard to develop his skill, and make it into the NBA. On the other hand, many people believe that genetics make up good athletes. They believe that people are born with the ability to become a great athlete. For instance, people believe that Reggie Miller was born with genes that would make him a good basketball player since he was born with potential to grow tall. Miller is now 6’6, and almost every great basketball player surpasses the height of 6’4. Therefore, being tall gives you an advantage in basketball, because you are indeed...

...leadership training because it will a waste of time and the money can be spent more wisely. I analyzed Mr. Ravaswami’s memo using the ten steps of critical thinking model from the book Asking the Right Questions. The way I accomplished this task was by asking one question at a time and explaining my results. What are the issues and the conclusion? The first step of the critical thinking model asks what are the issues and the conclusion with Mr. Ravaswami’s memo. After a senior executive meeting, the director of operations has suggested that it will be a good investment for CHCM to start a leadership development program for their junior financial executives. Mr. Ravaswami wrote a memo to Ms. Castle explaining his beliefs that CHCM should not proceed with the request because the program is not necessary and he concluded that the money could be spent better. What are the reasons? The second step asks for the reason why Mr. Ravaswami is suggesting not establishing a new leadership development program. As the first reason, the VP of resource discussed that in the last 50 years CHCM had an average rate of growth of 12% per year. He also pointed out in the memo that no one out of the 12 senior executives ever attended leadership development training and this has not...

Wealth Inequality In The United States

...country. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. How can this be solved? Why is it happening? What can I do to help? These are all questions that are asked far too often. It is said, on this topic, particularly speaking of the poor, that, “"The poor in America deserve to be poor because it is the result of choices their choices. They spend money poorly, they don't study in school, and they do not have the discipline needed to succeed." This statement sparked a lot of interest in me and really got me thinking. Do poor people really deserve to be poor? Is it really their own fault? Those are both bold statements – and I disagree completely with them both. The poor are getting poorer for the same reason people become poor in the first place: they are in a hole that is too deep to climb out of. If you ask any child if they want to be rich or poor when they grow up, 99% of them will reply by saying they want to be rich. No one wants to be poor! So why do people end up that way? I think it is because they don’t have the opportunity to become wealthy. I think a lot of the time it is because of the family that they are born in to. If your parents cannot afford to send you to a good high school...

Birth Order Research Paper

...Many believe that birth order has an effect on personality. It might be one way to gain an understanding of why your family members, friends, and co-workers behave the way they do. The family is the first social system to which a child is exposed so birth order plays a significant role in a child’s life. But birth order does not clarify everything about human behavior, personality is also affected by numerous influences such as tradition, family size, the environment of the upbringing, education, gender, years between children and etc. There are four basic groupings of birth order: the oldest, the only, the middle, and the youngest. Each group has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The birth order factor is not always precise, but it does give some signs about why people are the way they are. First born children are often looked up to by the other children in the family, and as a result, will automatically take on a role of leadership. They are considered natural born leaders who will take charge, whether on the soccer field or in the classroom, and want everything to be just right. Most first born are perfectionists, this may also mean they struggle to admit when they are wrong. Ambitious, organized, and dominant are other first born traits. Firstborns like to be in control....

My Philosophy

...When discussing my personal philosophy, I believe people are born evil by nature according to rules and regulations set by common standards. As a child, I had to be taught how to do things such as “share” and not be selfish, not be “disrespectful” and was given consequences for my negative behavior when I displayed explosive temper tantrums. As a parent, I have to teach my three year old toddler the difference between right and wrong, good and bad, greed and giving. He wasn’t born wired with the ability to automatically show positive traits and charactistics. Although there are times now that he is older he has the ability to “be good”, I have seen that it is a lot easier to be “bad” since we are born with “animal instincts”. Then I ask myself who made these the rules? Why do we have boundaries? Why does he have to “share” something that belongs essentially to “him”? If I ask him to complete a task and he says “no” or feels the need to act out his emotions by falling out onto the ground, why can’t he? I display my anger sometimes by arguing or separating myself when I don’t want to be bothered, I tell individuals “no” when I don’t want to do something, why can’t he? Who defined evil and good? I ask myself was it the Bible? Who really wrote the bible and how do I know if those words were truly inspired by God? The question is I don’t know. But as an adult, I understand the good that people can be and display. Sure, I would love to rob a bank without getting a trouble...

Why Abortion Is Wrong

...Abortion is wrong Abortion is wrong. There are many reasons as to why it is wrong. Abortion is murdering a human embryo. If abortion is legal then why isn’t murder? It is both the same in a way. Abortion is a safe procedure but can also be fatal and dangerous if not done professionally. Murder is illegal so I think abortion should be too. It’s taking innocent lives away and it’s cruel. Many people also think the human embryo isn’t a human because it hasn’t been born yet. Many people think abortion is okay and do not think it’s hurting anyone or killing a human being, but there is good supporting information stating that abortion is wrong and why. Abortion is the killing of an unborn human being. The United States government considers unborn...

Are Leaders Born or Made

...| “Are Good Leaders born, or can they be Made” | For decades researchers have been trying to find the answer to the question “Are good Leaders born, or can they be made?” However it is my belief that, it is a little of both, Leaders are naturally born and they can be made. Firstly, let us define who is a leader, Peter Guy Northouse – (2009) postulates that “a leader is any person who guides others towards a common goal, showing the way by example, thus creating an environment in which other team members feel actively involved in the entire process of goal achievement. A leader is not the boss of the team but instead, he/she is that person who is committed to carrying out the mission of the venture. He further defines leadership as” a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task” which in short would mean working through others to achieve goals or objectives . With these definitions, it would be safe to say that anyone whose accomplishment necessitates the sustenance of others can be a leader. The same is true of many who are presently working with and through others to achieve a common objective that they are indeed leaders, whether they consider themselves to be eccentric or catastrophic leaders. Mahatma Gandhi once said that, “We must live the change we want to see”. This quote brings new meaning as it embraces the fact that we are leaders of any change in our lives, therefore logically...

What It Means to Be a Christian

...know about being Christian: read the bible, attend mass, work hard, and be good to my family, the usual. After going through this course and reading more about the bible itself and conversing with those in the class I definitely feel more enlightened to what it takes to be a Christian. The day to day lives that we all live nowadays tend to consume us so much that I think we forget why we are what we are. And I think this class has helped to reaffirm why I am a Christian. Everyone knows that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, but no one actually talks about why this is important; to them or to Christianity. To me this is kind of like a director foreshadowing in a movie. GOD was able to see that having Jesus born of a virgin would only enhance the believability of his deity by having this occur. Human skepticism is way too advanced and this just seems to be the obvious reason for setting this up this way. Just think had Jesus been born of a normal woman, in a normal setting, normal family, everyone would just assume he was normal. There would be no added credence to his power, knowledge, and compassion. It has in many ways added incentive for people to believe in him. So GOD was able to see into the future that we as a race would question, protest, and even take contrarian points of view in a unified opposition had this not occurred. It was his way of foreshadowing the rest of the story by having Jesus born of a virgin to help enhance our belief in him. This was only step one in...

This issue is about reasons behind why immigrants migrate to the U.S and I will tell you why they mean no harm to the United States. Illegal immigration is not a threat to America's national security. They come to the U.S for a better life. Second reason is because illegal immigrants decrease criminal rate. Last reason is that by blocking them, it will not make them go away. Immigrants come to the United States for a reason. The that they want a better life. They are leaving their country because of the problems their countries are having. Issitt Micah L. stated that "immigrants leave their countries of origin for a variety...

Nature vs Nurture

...Many people wonder if experience is just there from what we learn in life or if we are born with them. There are always two questions to a subject we have been wondering for years. How come one of the twins like football and the other twin hates that sport? Sometimes we are born with a different type of attitude from one of our siblings. We would either get it from one of our parents or from one of our peers we have been hanging out with from the outside world. If you have a nasty attitude towards your parents or other people, everyone will wonder which parent they got it from. It is not only the parents, it is also from who the young child is hanging around with and what they are learning from the peer. Many people wonder why we behave the way we do and why we behave differently compared to our family members. It is what they call nature and nurture. Nature is a trait of what we are with and what is passed down genetically. Nature gives us our eye and hair color, what we like to eat, how our smile looks and shape of our body. Nurture is personal experience. We aren’t born with a blank personality, we learn from either our parents or peers. It is the causes of our behaviors and characteristics. Genes may give us a little boost on how our personality starts, but from the environment from the outside world has the power to make us the exact opposite. Before psychology class, I have also been wondering for a while why I and some of my siblings are different from one another. I...

...filled with people and realized you had to go to the bathroom? Naturally most people in the same situation would look for the nearest restroom. There are some people that cannot do that without expecting some kind of negative response from the public. This is just one of the challenges transgender people face on a daily bases. I remember growing up and hearing things such as “why can’t they just except who they are and move on” or “all they want is attention if they don’t watch out they are going to get the kind they don’t want”. Sadly some of these things I heard growing up came from people that I loved, respect and even admired. Transgender people are constantly under fire, they are accused of being mentally unstable, morally bankrupt, and even misguided souls by delusional parents. People who are born naturally male and views themselves as female or born as a female but views themselves as male are not the same as gay or lesbian. According to Kathy Kreitler in her article “Top 10 Myths About Transgender People” she shares with us that sexual orientation is defined as the preference an individual is attracted to but gender identity is what a person actually believes what their gender is (Kreitler, 2012). One does not have to be engaged in a homosexual act or even passed the age of puberty to be considered transgender. Many people who consider themselves homosexual love the gender they were born with and wouldn’t change it for the world. While transgender people feel trapped...

Alike or Different

...OR DIFFERENT? “People are more alike than different.” A very famous saying that has spread around, but what does it actually mean, and does everyone agree with it? Some people think that they have more similarities than differences when being compared to others, while others say that everyone is different, with rarely any similarities. It depends on the person’s opinion, and in my opinion people are more alike than different, but this can’t be used as a way of judging people that might have those little differences. * Many people think that they have more similarities than differences with others, like the fact that that we’re all human beings, and that we all have a dream that we want to fulfil, and the fact that we all have a life with good sides and bad sides, no matter how different people’s lives can be. And if we go on thinking about those similarities it’ll take forever, a never-ending list, and if we go on naming them that’ll take even longer. It’s as if we are made beads of the same material, maybe different colours, but all the same, all on one string. We can try and change ourselves, by changing our appearance, putting on makeup, wearing different clothes, jewellery, etc. But it’s not just a case of appearance, but it also involves the person underneath that mask everyone tries to hide behind. Nobody has ever tried to look at the person underneath before judging them. It’s just ego that stands in the way. What will the result be when people are stripped of all...
