Why an Mba?

...Why Pursue an MBA? Francyn Salas MGMT521 Why Pursue an MBA? Innovative. Individualistic. Entrepreneurial. The Jungian Personality Assessment suggests that these three words describe a person like me. These characteristics are subject to personal interpretation. It is with these three characteristics that I will present my argument for wanting to pursue and obtain a Master of Business Administration, MBA degree. These reasons are related to issues such as job scarcity, wage earnings, and personal goals. It is because of job scarcity that I would like to establish myself in a good company. Once established, I can work towards increasing my wage earnings and at the same time work towards my personal goals. An individualistic mind is one that seeks to separate itself from the rest of the pack. Because obtaining a bachelor’s degree is fast becoming a common practice, pursuing a master’s degree only makes sense to a person seeking to be more distinguishable in a sea of familiarity. Degree requiring jobs are also becoming difficult to obtain. This difficulty can be attributed to the growing number of BA degree holders seeking jobs. According to NACE’s Job Outlook 2010 Spring Update, report shows employers plan to hire 5.3 percent more new college graduates in 2009-10 than they did in 2008-09 ("Job outlook: hiring," 2010). ...requirement is to get a bachelor’s in psychology. After that, a masters is required specifically for each individual field. For example: after I get my bachelor’s in psychology, I would need to pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology if I want to become a clinical therapist and vice versa. However, to become a counseling therapist, I would need to get a Ph.D. or PSy.D. in the field of counseling psychology and along with that degree, I would need to be required to have one to two years’ experience as an intern in order to get a license and use the title “psychologist”. To get a bachelor’s in psychology, it really doesn’t matter where you get it. What really matters is where you go for...

Construct and Support Argument Paper

...administration was one of my many dreams and the best decisions I could every make. I knew that choosing to pursue a masters in business administration would begin many new career opportunities. In July 2006, I had the opportunity to obtain my undergraduate degree from the International Academy of Design and Technology Tampa in Recording Arts (Audio Engineering) at the age of 31. At times, the decision felt a little tough because I work time and run my own recording studio. At my old collage, several of my instructors actually made an impact in my life; they advised me to pursue the MBA after six months to a year of rest, in order to get some of my affairs in order. By pursuing an MBA degree, I can also go back and teach at the Academy, it also helps me to achieve goals in my personal life, such as becoming a better businessperson. Some of my former instructors perceive me to be a complex person with a big vision and a low tolerance for stupidity. I thought long about my decision and the time it would take to finish the MBA program and the time I had to give up to accomplish my goals. I did not want to waste any more time and have my dreams ruined, I determined that it made more sense not to wait six months to a year, I only took three months off to give my brain a rest than I decided to pursue my MBA right away after earning my undergraduate degree at the Academy. My decision to pursue an MBA degree was more on considering the benefit of an MBA degree and the right time to do...

Construct and Support an Argument

...Argument My decision to continue my education and pursue an MBA is to gain the required skills needed to start a new career in my near future. Pursuing an MBA will make it possible to live a better economic life and to have a good job with security and top pay. I have chosen this route even with the current economic situation, knowing that new jobs may not be available by the time I finish with my MBA. An MBA would benefit me greatly in a variety of ways. Pursuing an MBA will aid in the development of the skills I need in the finance and accounting areas. Of course the increase in pay from possessing an MBA does not hurt either. When researching jobs online I am finding that by having a master’s degree, the pay is substantially higher than those with a bachelor’s degree. Other than career and financial reasons, I do have a personal goal to achieve more than my siblings. Out of four sisters only two of us have a bachelor’s degree. I would love nothing more than to become the other sibling to obtain a masters degree. Plain and simple, I want to do better than all of my sisters. In this economy, having a good paying job with security is vital. “In nearly every sector of the globe, the prospect of making more money and living a better economic life draws thousands of students to MBA programs” (Euders.com, 2009). I plan hopefully to open my own business someday in the very near future. With running my own business the part of running a business that I feel I need stronger...

Personal Narrative: A Career In Forensics

...Psychology has always been something I’ve been very intrigued in since I was about 12 or 13 years old. Although my parents told me one day when I was in kindergarten, they went in for a parent teacher conference and learned some very interesting news. It seemed my kindergarten teacher had already decided on an area of careers that I was going to pursue. When they began talking the first thing that she told them was, “ I can already tell just by watching Dylan this year so far that he will have a career with hands on social activity. He is not afraid to talk to anyone and always helps everyone when they are sad. He’s also very importunate as well.” I was repressed this story until I was about 16 because that was about the age I told my parents I want to do something with Psychology. I feel as though I am someone who’s very accost. I also watch a lot of criminal investigation shows as well, which helps with the forensic part of my pursued career. I usually can guess why the assumed killer committed the crime he or she convicted. I already know a decent amount of knowledge about...
