Project evaluation
I think over the course of this unit I have learnt a lot, not only in technique and skill at taking photographs, but I have also learnt quite a lot about organisation and time management. Things such as light painting with torches I had never even heard of, let alone know how to do, and other things like panning and creating movement blur are things that I now know and can use in the future. Plus now that I know a lot more about photo-taking techniques I can improve on them and develop my skills for future shoots and projects.
I have learnt about photographers and artists who I had never heard of, and looking at their work has inspired me to try different things and experiment with different types and techniques of photography. These include Michael Bosanko, Martin Parr, Slinkachu and Andreas Gursky.
I do feel as if I have fulfilled ‘the streets’ project, I feel as though I have covered most aspects of street photography while at the same time, I have learnt a lot and improved more and more with each shoot. However there are some areas within my various shoots which I perhaps didn’t put the same amount of effort in as others, which I now regret. Although now that I realise that some shoots could’ve been much better, I know that in the future I will keep my level and quality of photographs equal to the previous one or if not better.
The hardest part of my project I think was managing to keep up with the work and not letting it get ahead of you, which, in the end, I managed to overcome. The best part of my shoot was probably what I managed to do with the monopoly figures and how Slinkachu’s work had inspired me, this shoot was one of my best I feel. I also think that a good thing I improved on and learnt a lot about was using Photoshop to improve my pictures and edit them. By the end of the shoot I feel as if I know the best way to improve a
