Ocper

...8, ASSIGNMENT 2Ireti Kayode Strayer University | | CIS 175 Dr. William McConnell12/03/2013 | | | | | Ocper, Inc. Server Proposal Given Ocper, Inc.’s expanding network scenario there is a clear need to maximize the available resources between employees then it is appropriate to add additional servers to facilitate the sharing of files as well as the configuration of remote access services to allow for remote and secure working. In order to complement the existing network scenario this proposal is based around the configuration and deployment of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 as the network operating system. This is a stable and secure server environment which will allow the designated services to be configured and will equally allow for scalability while at the same time decreasing the overall maintenance and administration to support the network and associated servers. Given the size of the current organization and the IT systems at present, Windows Server 2012 Standard edition would be the most appropriate version for deployment as this will also keep the up-front costs down to a minimum – there is no requirement for the Enterprise Edition whose features will not be required in this implementation. One of the critical roles for the new server implementations will be that of a File Server capability – this can be easily configured within the Ocper, Inc. network through a Static IP address being assigned to this machine and then the File...

Windows Server Proposal

...PropAdvwork Proposal University of Maryland University College Shiv LLC will greatly benefit from using Windows Server 2012 to manage their network. Windows Server 2012 brings great updates to security and functionality over past editions of Windows. In this proposal, the major areas I will cover are Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, File Services, Remote Services, and WSUS (Windows Server Update Services). These major roles have features that will make Shiv LLC Company’s infrastructure run smoothly. Active Directory Shiv LLC will have sites across a large geographic location. Because of this, a regional domain model should be used. Domains will be broken down into where users are working. For example, currently Shiv LLC has three locations, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston. This means there will be three domains, representing each of these cities. This strategy will make sure the network can be maintained by regional administrators, who will only worry about users in their area of the network. With this style of deployment, it can be difficult to decide what will be the forest root domain. The main staff for the company is in two cities, Dallas and Houston. This makes it difficult to make one of these sites the forest root domain. To make this decision neutral, a dedicated forest root domain can be suggested. This domain will be created only to function as the forest root. It will not contain and users, except for service administrator accounts for the forest root....

Windows Server Proposal for Worldwide Advertising Inc.

...30, 2011 Windows Server Proposal For Worldwide Advertising Inc. Below is a project for my Windows Server Administration Course. This was the first course of the kind I have taken.  Let me know what you think.  Summary Servers are the backbone of an organization. The implementation and configuration of a server network can determine the prosperity or failure of a business. After reviewing the needs of Worldwide Advertising Inc., I have come up with what I think is the best solution.  I will be covering infrastructure server roles such as:  DHCP and DNS, which work behind the scenes, to the application servers which give life to your advertising dreams.  I have prescribed an active directory schema that will require effortless management. I have proposed a File and Sharing implementation that suites a growing enterprise as well as state of the art data storage. I have also noted some preliminary estimates of scheduling and manpower required for the solution. Deployment and Server Edition             Throughout the infrastructure the most advanced server operating system, Windows Server 2008 R2, will be used. Enterprise edition will be leveraged on all servers, because it has 4 virtual licenses per OS. To increase reliability and security Server Core will be on all servers. There will be a total of 10 servers for the Worldwide Advertising Inc. internal network. The majority of the servers will be managed from the Los Angeles main office while four servers will be located...

Section Two: Current Software and Hardware As of today, Simple Getaways is utilizing a Windows Server fileserver to maintain login credentials specific to each of their twelve offices. Each office has their own Microsoft Exchange server to handle e-mails. As such, Simple Getaways effectively has 12 environments to maintain, both hardware and software license-wise. Communication via offices is not streamlined; while documents can be emailed, internal documents are still handled with physical paper, even though each of the employees have a Windows-based system with the Microsoft Office suite at their disposal. Overview of Challenges Current limitations of their software solution cause the largest issue to be incorrect data being propagated through the company. Because of a lack of change management tracking within their current software set, it is possible for key stakeholders to be working concurrently on a document while being...

...Migrating to a Standardized ERP System in a Cloud Computing Environment at ABC Corporation Barbara Ferneyhough Managerial Applications of Information Technology – IS535 (ON) Section B DeVry University, Keller Graduate School of Management December 11, 2011 Course Project Example used with permission from student Migrating to a Standardized ERP System in a Cloud Computing Environment at ABC Corporation Proposal Topic This proposal discusses the use of multiple financial systems throughout ABC Corporation (ABC), the impact that this has upon effective corporate operations and proposes a solution. ABC maintains four different ERP systems (BaaN, PeopleSoft, SAP and Deltek) and a financial consolidation system (Hyperion) across all of its divisions leading to increased IT costs as individual systems must be procured, maintained, and manipulated to provide financial data in a format that is meaningful to the home office for reporting and strategic management purposes. Not only is this a potentially inefficient use of technology, the use of a non-standardized system impacts the ability of management to obtain, manipulate and interpret critical data elements for strategic planning purposes and regular performance monitoring. Problem The business problem to be solved is how to improve operational efficiencies, reduce IT costs, and improve insight into the financial management aspects of the company for improved strategic planning and performance monitoring.
