...Commerce,Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology Submission date : 15thjuly 2015 By Wireless communication Wireless communication Wireless technology exists to enhance the human sensory feelings to give people the opportunity to be heard, to listen and be educated, to recognize and be recognized. It is a type of technology that allows you to express yourself anywhere, anytime toward achieving a greater level of communication. The objective in this paper is to become familiar with the concept of wireless technology. Various topics are covered to include Wireless history, standards, basic principles, regulatory change, and global implications. There was a time when you could easily count all the men in the country who even pretended to know anything about wireless. No one of the few who were working with wireless then, knew whether a set carefully put together would work at all or how far the signals could be heard. Transmissions of a hundred miles or more were hailed as remarkable. Present-day radio listeners are quite prone to think of radio as nothing more than telephonic broadcasting. But before the wireless telephone, came tremendous amounts of hard, sometimes discouraging, but always fascinating and essentially romantic work. Wireless first startled the world’s fair in 1904. At that time there was, of course, no radio public, and the range of wireless was only a few miles. The sending and receiving instruments were unbelievably crude, resembling in no...

...QUESTION 1 Paulo Sanchez feels that there is a market niche for software that helps entrepreneurs file for a patent. Surveying the features and prices of legal forms already in the market, the Paulo believes that a price of $150 would be about right for such software. At that price, he estimates that 1,000 copies could be sold each year. To design, develop, produce and service this software, an investment of $400,000 would be required. Paulo desires a 15% return on his investment (ROI). Given these data, the target cost to create, sell, and service the software is: $150 $60 $90 $40 1 points QUESTION 2 (Not a repeat question.) The New Product Development Team at Mattel Inc. has developed a new version of the Barbie doll for the upcoming holiday season - "Holiday Barbie". Their market research suggests that they can sell approximately 500,000 units of Holiday Barbie at a price of $13.50/unit to retail stores. The variable production costs are $4.50/unit and total fixed costs are expected to be $3,600,000. In order for the new design to enter production, the target profit on the new doll must equal 30% each year on Mattel's capital investment. The total required investment is $3,600,000. If the number of units sold and selling price per unit cannot be increased beyond the current projection, to what level does variable cost per unit (currently $4.50) need to be reduced in order to ensure the 30% return on capital? (Ignore minor rounding.) $0.36 $4.14 $3...

Current 802.11b products operate at 2.4GHz, and deliver up to 11Mbps of bandwidth – comparable to a standard Ethernet wired LAN in performance. An upcoming version called 802.11a moves to a higher frequency range, and promises significantly faster speeds. It is expected to have security concerns similar to 802.11b. This low cost, combined with strong performance and ease of deployment, mean that many departments and individuals already use 802.11b, at home or at work – even if IT staff and security management administrators do not yet recognize wireless LANs as an approved technology. This paper addresses the security concerns raised by both current and upcoming 802.11 network technologies. Wireless LAN Business Drivers Without doubt, wireless LANs have a high gee-whiz factor. They provide always-on network connectivity, but don’t require a network cable. Office workers can roam from meeting to meeting throughout a building, constantly connected to the same network resources enjoyed by wired...

Mr Green

...Network Design Consultation Thomas J Butkovich CIS 175 June 14, 2011 Strayer University Dr. Felton ABSTRACT My neighbor want to start a billing service company . He would like to hire me to design a computer network to meet his needs but has limited funds. I told him I could do it and I would discuss the possibilities and capabilities of a small network. My neighbor wants to start a company call Bills R Us and would like to hire me to design the computer network for him. At this time he has no components of the network so I will have to work from scratch. The initial set up will be two workstations and a printer. He also informs me that he will need internet access with multiple email addresses. The need for security is low so the security suite doesn’t have to be complex. Since he is just starting the business he has limited funds. He needs to keep the overall start up cost to under $5000.00 and the monthly cost to under $200.00. I told him I would do it and this is the design I gave him. First of all I need to start with the workstations themselves. Since he needs to track orders and keep an accounting data sheet I will have to have the right programs for him. We will connect the two workstations using the peer-to-peer network. This allows both computers to communicate with each other and share programs but can keep some files protected for the other computer (Dean, P3). Also with this network it is very simple and less expensive....
