I feel that medical technology will affect the HealthCare market in a profound way over the next 3 years. Heart disease and heart attacks are the leading cause of death in the U.S. the technology for treatment and prevention has changed drastically over time. Since the 2000’s, better tests are available to diagnose heart attacks and new strategies were developed for long term management of heart attack and potential heart attack patients. The costs are very high because of the new technologies that are entering the market so naturally the demand is low, but as more options become available in treatments using this new technology, the costs will fall causing a positive shift in demand.
Health Care Reform
As costs have risen, the U.S. health care sector has also grown to influence our economy and our nation’s fiscal overview. Healthcare in our country has tremendous potential. Many health care industry leaders state that the cost growth could be reduced by 1.5 percent a year. Since ACA bill has been passed, many have signed up for the healthcare benefits. As the quality of the benefits offered from the ACA improve, this will affect the overall cost of health care in the entire market. The costs should fall as more viable options for quality health care are offered and demand should arise as well.
