Women in this remediation of Conan were portrayed by the director in two main ways, they were either strong and capable or a damsel in distress; however, one thing all the women in the fantastical world of Conan is that they are always portrayed sex symbols. A very good example of the strong and capable type would be the Character Zula. In the movie her fighting skills are on par with even that of Conan's and she is feared among many men after fighting them. After joining Conan' s ranks to endure on their adventure she has proven time and time again to be helpful when the group is in trouble. Princess Jehnna on the other hand proves to be more of a liability towards Conan during their quest. For example, often times she defies the expertise
