During the course of this class (Operations and Supply Chain Management) and over the next couple weeks, I will be analyzing a company that works with workers’ compensation. This company’s setting is to achieve the best financial and health outcomes for its clients. Their line of work is located within healthcare industry, however primarily focuses on pharmaceuticals. They do not prescribe the medications, but are highly concerned about the safety of patients consuming a higher dosage than normal or consuming an excessive amount of medications for unrelated reasons to injury.
The company strives to sustain safety for both the cost and the medications being taken by its clients. Their line of duty is to eliminate unnecessary treatment and reduce directionless worker’ compensations medical claims; setting up comprehensive evidence-base discussions for physicians to discuss an optimal intervention plan for patients. My company of choice is PRIUM.
The company has been servicing clients since 1986. Since then, the company not only increased in employees, but also expanded it services. In the last couple of years, PRIUM merged with Ameritox that deals with pain medication monitoring solutions, collectively, providing comprehensive manage care and medical intervention services. With both being sister companies, it allows them to offer a wide …show more content…
Being that I am new to the company’s work, it is highly recommended for me, as an upcoming healthcare administrator, to know how healthcare corporations function, where products and services are produced, and develop different corporate strategies to sustain business. This list could go on-and-on, however I provided some of the reasons why I would like to analyze PRIUM’s
