Art Survey

...help the student services department to understand workshops and seminars suitable for art students. To achieve this purpose, this survey was done by collecting data from 22 art students in art school. Data collection was by the use of a survey questionnaire containing two questions. The first question sought to rate how students were interested in undertaking different workshops. The last question was open ended seeking to understand other workshops that students would like to attend. To avoid getting blank responses, each participant was asked the questions and the researcher wrote the response on their behalf. The results indicated that 17 students were interested in attending the creativity workshop. However, most participants were not interested in the “wordpress” workshop. For the second question only nine participants identified other workshops in which they wish to attend. A Survey was done in an Art School to find out which Workshops and Seminars would be helpful for Art Students Introduction/Problem Statement Educational institutions recognize the need of students’ involvement in decision making. This attribute is seen as vital because it helps students select what they think would benefit them and help improve on their educational outcomes (Murphy 56). In particular, education institutions have been using seminars and workshops as tools to improve on the development of their students. In designing these workshops, evaluating learning needs are significant in determining...

Almost every member from my father side of the family have been working with ships, My dad also works with ships and so did almost every member from his side of the family have been working with ships as well. When I was a kid he used to take me along to work and I found it very interesting. So like my dad working with ships and its engines has always been what i wanted to do for a living. Also I feel like it’s a tradition I have to carry out, since my little brother don’t like to get his hands dirty like I do. Schneider

...account manager workshop. Some management issues have been exposed regarding not only the relationship between Schneider and Calchem but also the effectiveness of Schneider’s communication network and the cooperation from its subsidiaries. This report aims to analyse the challenges Schneider is facing in depth with the focus on cultural differences to figure out the solutions for this company to promote system of global account management, to gain support from local subsidies and to build the reliable long term relationship with new clients. The report identifies the challenges Schneider is facing at current. Firstly, the internal communication channel across organizations, relationships between subsidiaries and head quarters (HQ) and customer relations is considered as the core issues. Due to the matrix structure and the larger number of cultures involved in the net work communication, effective information feeding and sharing is difficult to be achieved. Secondly, different cultural orientations of different subsidiaries have made the goal of GAM hard to be gained. This is presented by the resistance to develop GAM in some subsidiaries and the reluctance to attend workshop. Furthermore, different cultural orientations of the clients raise different interpretation of Schneider Electric’s actions bringing misassumption about control power in the strategic alliances between Schneider and Calchem as well as challenges in convincing this account to attend the workshop. Workshop

...A strategic alliance is partnership between two or more firms that combine financial, managerial, and technological resources and their distinctive competitive advantages to pursue mutual goals (Deresky, 2014). A strategic alliance can have a great impact on two organizations that they may not be able to achieve on their own. Catholic Charities, USA is the largest, private human services network in the United States, serving people of all religious, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds and Catholic Charities of Louisville, Inc. is the largest, private human services agency operated by the Archdiocese of Louisville. The Archdiocese of Louisville itself also comprises of twenty-four counties in Central Kentucky and serves a population of approximately 1.1 million (Catholic Charities of Louisville, n.d.). A strategic alliance that seems fit for Catholic Charities of Louisville and the Catholic Charities organization as a whole is with a financial institution that can help with the management of funds and that are donated and funded through various different organizations. Another alliance that seems ideal would be through other local organizations that can help with aiding those in need, like United Way, the metro governments associated within the cities and with different schools and universities that can provide support for the children and their families that may be in need. These alliances would be an ideal fit for an organization like Catholic Charities that provides...

Workshop

...The Workshop I attended on July 24th was called “The Graduate’s Guide to Financial Success” and my instructor was Brenda Williams. Out of the whole thing, I think the most important subject that was important for me would be building credit. She mentioned that we should start building credit by our the beginning of our senior year, which I was semi-surprised about. We have to learn how to start becoming financially independent, and learning how to overcome that challenge. Not only is building good credit a must, but it will help you qualify for loans, auto insurance, rental applications, cell phone plans, and it can even affect whether you get a job. She listed out steps, but didn’t go into much detail on how we can build our good credit. The fist step is to become an authorized user on your parent’s account, which I’m currently in the process of doing. The reason for being an authorized user on my dads account is considered “piggybacking”, when my dad has good credit my credit gets a boost. For some, this is the only choice when it comes to building credit. The second step for me would be to open up my own credit card, if I can provide proof of income. Full responsibility will fall on me then. We also learned why good credit is important. Lenders, employers, landlords, and insurance companies all use your credit report or your credit score to decide if they want to approve your application. First off, having too much credit debt will leave a negative mark on your report and can...

Workshop Portfolio

...stage and screen | Workshop Portfolio | Arts in the Community | | Sarah Milner | “Theatre is a form of knowledge; it should and can also be a means of transforming society. Theatre can help us build our future, rather than just waiting for it.” (Boal, 1992, p. 31) For this module in Arts in the Community I wanted to work with children and after talking to Alice I discovered that she did too, we thought that it would be a good idea to find a placement together. We wanted our workshop to be influential and build on children's skills. Initially the idea was for our placement to be with disabled children as Alice and I wanted to create a workshop that centred on building their self-esteem, the project plan can be found in the Appendix (Figure 1). We looked for different places that would be suitable and thought of ideas for activities in our workshop. After discussing our plans we thought that it would be too difficult for us to be able to come up with a suitable workshop for disabled children as neither of us has had experience dealing with disabled people in the past. Straight away our idea changed to working with young children in either a school or drama club. We thought this would be easier for us to be able to design a suitable workshop, and becoming a teacher is a path that I’m thinking of following and this would give me a bigger insight. Finding a placement was very difficult; we came up with the idea of doing a Christmas themed workshop with the children so...
