I use to get distracted very easily but now I have realized that I have to pay attention to the material and close out or eliminate distractions before I start. I have to go to a quiet place where there are no distractions. By doing this it has helped me to significantly improve on my test scores. The night before a test I skim over my notes and get a good night’s sleep. As stated by Nevid “Sleep appears to play an important role in the process by which the brain consolidates or solidifies newly formed memories of daily experiences into more lasting memories” (Nevid, 2015). I also have learned that I am no good at cramming for a test. I like to space my learning out and give myself a break. Flash cards are good for studying things like definitions and multiplication tables because you can write the problem on one side and the answer on the other side.
