For my research paper in the class Chinese Culture and Civilizations, I argued about how Wu Zetian impacted Chinese politics and history as the first woman ruler that was accepted by the public. I also researched how her motives and ethics could have been questionable characteristics as a woman of that time period. This assignment made me realize that I enjoy researching those who set precedent and paved the way for new things to be established within societies. For example, Wu Zetian was the first woman ruler of China under the Tang Dynasty, and her reign of empress would allow the public, including woman to see their potential in politics and government.
