WW1
Throughout the duration of World War I the Americas were deeply rooted and not joining into the current fight we were at steadfast in our belief that we would allow the other countries to persist in their actions and would not interact with any other parties that could possibly render us into this war. But unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances and currently still to this day debated reasons of the sinking of the civilian ship Americas and its allies were deeply rooted into this war that seemed unequivocally to involve all parties in the great powers of the world this war was fought by many elements within the United States and all elements of its military's from powerful navy to the mighty Marine Corps to the Army. The Americas introduction into the beginning of World War I they received information in the beginning part of me that Germans hi command had ordered a major offensive of the Chemin des Dames which was situated in Paris. With the assistance of the second and third AEF they help defend along the Marne on both side of the plain.
This better way to Don for several months taking casualties on both sides and reach the climax during a portion of July 14 and the 15th in 1918 during this barrage both sides of the plane received heavy artillery fire and particularly around midnight the artillery reach the climax as the artillery Bumbarger the Germans even if they started to push forward in this battle of the main focus was getting across and gaining access to the Marnethat the Germans so heavily wanted and wanted to defend at all costs. The assault of the Chateau Thierry Display some of the most impressive and all inspiring series of artillery demonstration from both sides even during the climax in the middle of the night and midnight. But unfortunately by 12 o'clock in the afternoon of that day July 14 the Germans had made it across they had made it to Marne adjacent to Jaulgonne continuing up another 5 1/2 miles. Once all was said and done and the Germans evaluated their loss of life it was guesstimated the Germans had lost extra long portion of their men due to the heavy artillery barrage is by the Allied troops. To the American generals and commanders this success on behalf of the Germans is unacceptable and will not stand several times the Americans made attempts to regain back that land and several times their plans were for oil until finally in one effort they seemingly willingly and was able to take back what was taken from them and gaining ground finally. their troops are making a costly advance and making their way across the bridges the same ones at the Germans are taken from them. During the interrogation session with some of the German POWs they explain to the Allied troops that they had been planning to attack and take over the slam for quite some time they went through extensive feats to make sure that this goal was met.
This was a costly battle on both sides the soldiers after dealing with the barrage of barrage of artillery fire were extremely demoralize looking at themselves and trying to analyze exactly what they had they felt very down but their spirits were angry they would not allow themselves to quit North surrender they would not allow themselves to lose the war even though they faced seemingly insurmountable odds that would not let this process living off of small rations very little food and low ammunition they still continue to fight sodas on both sides of the allies would not quit. Their mindset might've been faltering due to the fact that the heavy artillery the thing about artillery that the soldiers of that area face is not knowing when or where it is coming from you could literally be sleeping in a trench allowing yourself to rest and out of nowhere a barrage of artillery fire comes out and kills 3 to 5 people next to you but spare some of the guys that are laying right next to you as well this is extremely demoralizing for the soldiers not knowing exactly where was coming from or how it was going to play out The smells of war for catastrophic everything from feces from not having proper areas to utilize the facilities to burning and rotting flesh the smell of people sickening the smell spoiled food the stench in the air after a long gun battle the foul odor of death this seem to playing all the soldiers on both sides of the trenches. Some of the weaponry that was used by the Germans in that time was a 17 cm mittlerer Minenwerfer, this weapon system platform was a portable mortar or mine projector used by the Imperial German army during the history of that war in the 1913 Era also at the Germans disposal was a 25 cm Schwerer Minenwerfer like the 17 mm it was a portable mortar or artillery system just in a bigger size stepping up from 17 to 25 cm allow for greater disbursing of artillery shells and artillery battery that's causing a greater output and collateral damage was fragmentation rounds or high explosive yield. The British on the other hand were the first to utilize impact night so to speak the Bangalore torpedo The British utilize this in their combat engineer role to help breaching clear minefield areas as well as scouting patrols for the rest of the troops to follow One man credit it with the engineering and fielding of this weapon system is British Captain
McClintock of the British combat engineers. For the Italian military they filled at the Beretta model 1915 a long-running semi automatic pistol, The Beretta pistol Was seen as such a powerful well weapon because it was self-loading this yielded a great improvement over the revolver allowing the shooter to fire more rapid shots and have a greater casing of ammo carried at him at any point in time. With all this weaponry it was thought that the allied would be an formidable opponent to the Germans during this time frame given the tool at there disposal.
