Discuss how human resource professionals can ensure that top organizational leaders encourage managers and employees to follow laws and guidelines. Human resource professionals can communicate to the top leaders about the consequences of not abiding by the federal laws, and explain to them how it does have an effect on the bottom line (Wagner, 2011). When human resource professional include top organizational leaders on training and how organizational profits can be sheltered it will make top organizational leaders think twice about not following laws and rules that are set before them. A basic awareness of what is expected of leaders will motivate them to implement programs and policies that will demonstrate that the organization has a strong working relationship in place to protect workers.
Discuss how hiring women and minorities improved Xerox’s profitability. The CEO of Xerox David Kearns knew that hiring women and minorities would allow Xerox to select from a larger labor pool; this would allow Xerox to be in an improved position to beat out the competition. Being in a better position to compete increased Xerox’s profitability and gave employees something to strive for. Xerox also received large government contracts because of their plans to hire women and minorities. Another reason for Xerox’s profit increase is the fact that, because women and minorities found Xerox to be a friendly, family, and fun place to work the retention rate is very low. There is evidence to suggest that Xerox’s hiring of women and minorities contributed to increased staff retention and productivity. Identify the changes that Xerox made to become a more attractive employer for women and minorities. Xerox started allowing workers to take work home so that they could have dinner with their family. The employees knew that they were able complete their work, and be productive without having to work long hours in the office. It has been proven that employees are more proficient when they are kept happy and know that their work is appreciated (Kenyon, 2005). Xerox also decided to promote minorities within the company. Leslie Varon is a good example, in the early 1990s she worked in the finance department, now she’s Xerox’s finance VP. Anne Mulcahy is another example; she began as a sales rep in 1976. In 2001, when Xerox was having serious financial problems, Mulcahy became CEO (Steward & Brown, 2009). Mulcahy did an outstanding job cutting the workforce and getting Xerox back on track. As companies like Xerox attempt to broaden their reach in the global marketplace, diversity in the workplace is celebrated. Many companies now train employees and management alike in an effort to develop sensitivity towards their coworkers, in order to get a greater understanding and appreciation for diversity. This is especially important with companies that have had a history of cultural divide in terms of racial discrimination and stereotypes. The company that I work for embraces diversity. It is a good feeling to know that you are appreciated for who you are. This makes you want to put out your best work out of loyalty to the company.
Evaluate whether or not hiring and promoting women and minorities has been unfair to white men. White men in the past, time and time again have been hired exclusively over females and minorities. I don’t see any reason why white men can’t continue to be hired along with women and minorities. I can understand why some white men who are not looking at the big picture could feel like they are being treated unfairly. If you are oblivious to the fact that for years women and minorities have been over looked and under paid you would feel that way. However if white were to look at all of the facts they would soon realize that they are not being treated unfairly, the playing field just needs to be evened up to make it fair. Hiring a women or a minority would be unfair to white men if the women or minority were not qualified for the job, but the white men were.

The thing that the HR professional talks about the leaders is abiding by the federal laws, and how does it affect the bottom line. Human resource professionals will conduct training on how organizational profits can be protected, and this will encourage top leaders to follow laws and to encourage others to do it as well. Please post case studies in Turnitin Assignment Drop Box as a MS Word document. Remember, each case study must have the heading listed below and must be answered according to instructions; each heading is worth a percentage of each case grade. This is how I want your paper turned in. The introduction is generally one paragraph. The easiest way to explain this section is to think of it like an abstract or introduction. This section, if written properly, can actually act as the abstract for this paper. It will, in a sense, set up the rest of the paper, which is the review of the case, analysis, recommendations, and the summary and conclusions sections. If there is a second paragraph, it will look like this. An interesting APA fact is that there is only one space after the period. This is difficult for many to get used to and takes practice. The paper should be written in third person narrative. I do not want to see you writing in the first person. Note: I have bolded the required headings that must be present in the paper and please keep bolded. Answer the following questions by applying the concepts learned in Chapter 1. Also, conduct literature reviews on the subject of discussion and use to support...
