Marcipāna trifeles ar ķirsi vēderā
Visi, kuri ēduši šīs bumbiņas un kuriem garšo marcipāns, labpatikā murrā un prasa recepti. Protams, it kā drusku ķēpīgi. Protams, jāgaida, kamēr ķirši drusku iereibs, vai jāatceras iepriekšējā vakarā tos apliet ar rumu. Bet rezultāts ir tā vērts!
Recepte
* 25 kaltēti ķirši * 50 grami ruma * 340 grami marcipāna * 100 grami šokolādes glazūras čipšu
Tas, cik daudz marcipāna aizies, atkarīgs no dāsnuma pakāpes. Man uz 25 ķiršiem kā reiz noderēja veikalā nopērkamais gabaliņš. Turpina, kamēr visi ķirši pārvērtušies par pelēcīgām bumbiņām.
Tad nu izkausē šokolādi un apmērcē bumbiņas. Man gan nav izdevies atrast veidu, kā noglazētos bumbulīšus panākt apaļus – man vienmēr blakus ir šokolādes peļķīte.

Recepte
* 250 grami žāvētu plūmju * 250 grami žāvētu aprikožu * 200 grami mandeļu * 50 grami medus * 50 grami citronu sulas * 150 grami šokolādes glazūras čipšu
Sasmalcina riekstus.
Smalki sakapā plūmes un aprikozes. Vislabāk, ja to dara kāds vergs, jo īpaši viegli tas nav. Man šoreiz palīdzēja māsa.

Aprikozes šokolādē bija vienas no tām.

300 grami šokolādes man bija par daudz, pārējo nācās kaut kur izķēpāt, piemēram, taisos zemenes šokolādē.

Recepte
* 300 grami baltās šokolādes čipšu * 50 grami sviesta * 50 grami saldā krējuma * 50 grami aprikožu * 100 grami žāvētu dzērveņu * 100 grami kokosriekstu skaidiņas

Izmaksas: ap Ls 1.50
Kalorijas: vienā bumbiņā ir ap 90 kcal

China Xmas

...I am a Hindu who always wanted to trade in her religion during one month of the year: December. I could never resist my adoration of Christmas. As a child, I thought it was unfair that I could not have a Christmas just because of my primary religious beliefs. Though my family never celebrated the holiday, I secretly honored the season in my heart; loving the music, the trees and the glowing lights I saw throughout the city. But I was never able to outwardly celebrate the holiday until I acquired my second family in my junior year of high school. Members of my second family are Jewish and Atheist. In fact, none of us are actually Christian. We all love the trappings of Christmas and decided nothing could stop us from celebrating the holiday. On Christmas Eve last year, we met at my friend's apartment on the Upper West Side. We dressed in our finest and set the table with fancy plates, beautiful silverware, and the embroidered napkins. We spread Chinese take-out on the plates and ate fortune cookies for dessert. In a sense, we were celebrating our friendships and diversity more than the holiday itself. For me, the Chinese-Jewish-Christmas was an affirmation of a newfound independence that inadvertently came into my life with my second family. Before then, I had grown socially dependent on my six-pack.I became friends with six girls from Southeast Asia, other "Brownies." We were inseparable in my freshman year. I always dreamed of attending Stuyvesant High School but it seemed...

These companies are usually small in size. These companies, generally newly created, are in a phase of development and research for markets. Paul Graham says that "A startup is a company designed to grow fast. Being newly founded does not in itself make a company a startup. Nor is it necessary for a startup to work on technology, or take venture funding, or have some sort of "exit." The only essential thing is growth. Everything else we associate with startups follows from growth." A public limited company is a company which offers equity shares with limited liability to public investors on a registered exchange. Reasons of Converting Start up business to Public Limited Company Going public raises cash, and usually a lot of it. Insanity In Tim O Brien's The Things They Carried

...confront it, and in this case it is a man from the protagonist's past, Assef. While Assef may be the wicked in the story, there is a man who represents the hope and reason for the main character to go back to his country, Hassan. Amir, the narrator, can be portrayed as men in war, feeling guilt for something in the past, and doing something in the future in order to fix it or in some cases cope with it. But even if one tries to fix something from their past, there is still a great amount of guilt that stays with that individual until they die, a war of guilt. As Plato has quoted, “Only the dead have seen the end of war” Xmas, a day of “happiness”, is the time of year when the world “celebrates” the birth of Jesus Christ. While this is the meaning of Xmas, people also celebrate the things they are grateful for. John Lennon, in his highly notable song Happy Xmas, gives the world a more clear perspective on why to be grateful for what it has. Showing that people are so built up in the mindset of their society that they forget those who are suffering in war to this very day. And while they suffer and fight constantly, even after the war ends, the people in this society will never realize what it is like to suffer until it happens to them. With all things considered, war is hell and hell is war, and until everyone in the world realizes it’s drastic outcomes there will never be a winner in war. It is not until every individual comes together as one that beauty will be seen as not fighting...

Farang Food Review

...= Farang Food by Gill Bater is a recommended book to read to foreigners and Thai alike once they face the challenge of cooking international meals. Farang Food is, as the name suggests, a book that concerns with foods that are outside Thailand's border, mostly on the western side of the world. This recipe book is in its second edition and is printed on good quality glossy stock. This is itself is an important consideration for a recipe book which will spend much of its time in the greasy environment of a kitchen. The copy I have myself have gone through stages of wear and tear, even sribbles from my earlier days of artistic excursions. The book as expressed before is multi-lingual, meaning that a person from more than one ethnic or national background may be able to read it. That is also the main purpose of the book: giving opportunity for those wanting to cook, to also learn a second language. The descriptive detail and instructions within the book are quite simple, a little too simple at times, but it still gets the message across. It is amazing to see that a person is able to squeeze in a 20 step process into a 2 page space. Foreigners living in Thailand have also experienced studying this cookbook. Stanley Kemp, a foreigner living in Thailand who still has a taste for his Western delicacies, stated "...when we returned to 388 John from Jomtien called in for the afternoon so we had a chat about cars, computers and cameras, then Diana made a small chili-con-carne for...

Our study is the first to map changes in preferred orientation and lattice parameter as a function of position within enamel across a whole tooth section with such high resolution. Synchrotron X-ray diffraction with a micro-focused beam spot was used to collect two-dimensional (2D) diffraction images at 150 mm spatial resolution over the entire tooth crown. Contour maps of the texture and lattice parameter distribution of the hydroxyapatite phase were produced from Rietveld refinement of diffraction patterns generated by azimuthally sectioning and integrating the 2D images.
