GENERIC QUESTIONS:

1. Please introduce yourself. ( This will tell you how they start a conversation with a total stranger).

Good morning/afternoon/evening, I just want to introduce myself first before I start this conversation and feel free to ask questions if I miss any information you want to know about me. I am polo santos, a 4th year marketing student, studying at the University of Santo Tomas. I live in Las Pinas and I spend my whole 22 years in this country. A pure Filipino citizen, who wants to talk and do business with professional people like you and if you don’t mind can you tell something about yourself? Thank you.

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses ? And upon identifying them, what do you think are your strengths that would make you a good sales person? ( This tells you if the person really knows how to identify his strengths)

I am a jolly, flexible, work dedicated and an independent person who wants to deal and do business with professionals. I am also a workaholic and a person who looks for deadlines that makes me cram and feel stress. Being a jolly and flexible person makes me capable in dealing with people and catches their attention which makes them feel comfortable with me. Because I find ways by myself for me to enjoy the task or job that is given to me, I am able to do it effectively and efficiently. With these factors, I can use them as an edge and an opportunity that in dealing with people will make me a better and professional marketer.

3. If you say that you are weak in certain aspects, how do you think can you overcome this weakness to turn you into an improved and better person? Being a workaholic person, I should look for any reason or ways for me to foresee my work not as work but just a game or a past time for me to not feel stressed. I should also set deadlines that are very attainable in terms that the job or task will not be ruined and will not make me cram because it can affect the result of the task. Improving these weaknesses will make me not only a better marketer but also a better person.

4. Describe your typical day. ( This will tell you how organize the person is and how much he values time) I like to start my day in eating my breakfast with my mother and after that is that I will set my things and clothes for me to wear in school. Before I leave the house, I check first my stuffs and check if I missed any homeworks or papers to be submitted at school. Upon arriving at school, I buy candies and gums to satisfy my taste. And when I am inside the room, I get along with my friends and classroom and asked them if there are any submissions or homeworks for the day. Before going home, I eat dinner with my friends for me to not feel hungry on the trip. When I am at the bus I usually get a short nap that serves as a rest time for be because when I arrived at home I will start doing my homeworks and things to be accomplished. And before going to bed, I play first two to three songs with my guitar and listen to different kinds of music. I feel that my day is not complete when I don’t play and listen to music. I always pray before going to sleep.

5. Describe your typical weekend ( This will tell you how the person deals with stress) When weekend starts, I usually hang-out with my high school friends. Saturday evening, my friends and I play computer games or watch movies at malls and in the evening we play cards. Every Sunday morning, I usually accompany my mother going to church and after we went to grocery to buy the commodities we need in our daily routine. After going to grocery, we eat our lunch together. After we eat, our day was almost finish because we will go back home. Around 3pm or 4pm, I will take for about 2 to 3 hours of sleep. Around 6pm or 7pm, I will eat my dinner and after that is that I will watch dvd or download movies. After watching movies, I will start to do my homeworks. I am not in the mood to study or to do my homeworks if I miss watching a movie. This ends my weekend.

6. Have you had an embarrassing moment? If so how did you handle it? ( This will tell you how they handle emergency situations) I had an embarrassing moment when my friend asks me to give me her ballpen placed on the table near me. I just throw it to her and I her mother enters the room and I hit her mother. I don’t know what to do when but I say sorry for what I did and ask for her forgiveness. Her mother doesn’t get mad at me but I know my friend feels not comfortable to me already that day. I say sorry to my friend for what I did but I feel even she accepts it, I know she has a hard feelings to me. So I went home and make the day past and I went back to my friend’s home to ask again for her forgiveness and I also say sorry again to her mother. My friend accepts my sorry that day and I am very happy on it.

7. What is your idea honesty, loyalty, fidelity, faithfulness and truthfulness? (This will tell you the degree of a person’s grasp of what is morally right and wrong) For me honesty, loyalty, fidelity, faithfulness and truthfulness are the characteristics of a person you don’t ask to give to you but are naturally given to you by a person. Honesty is that when a person tells the truth even if he/she hurts people that can lead to a good result or outcome of the problem. Loyalty is that when people shows trust to a specific thing or person even if there is a bad comment about it. Fidelity is when the person shows dedication and commitment about his or her work. Faithfulness is the characteristics that you believe and trust a person on what he/she is telling and showing to you. Truthfulness is the state of saying the truth no matter it will end up with a good or bad outcome.

8. How would handle a customer that does not believe in your product? ( test of ingenuity, creativity and salesmanship) If the customer doesn’t believe in my product, first thing that I will do is to discuss again what my product is. Then I will ask about his/her hobbies and likes and relate it to my product. I will try to get the feelings of my customer for him/her to feel that she needs my product. I will also give him or her assurance that his/her money will be spent in a good product by giving her additional benefits and warranty on the product. 9. How would you handle a limited budget if you are asked to produce a result which is not commensurate to the budget provided? ( test of resourcefulness and concern to company)

If I have only a limited budget for my problem and it is not enough to compensate my project. I will look first for alternatives of the materials that I will be using to lessen the cost on it. Then I will look for sponsors that can tie up with me in doing the project. And when it the project is about producing a product, first I will ask to decrease the production of the product in order to avoid losses and make it sell to the market then the profit that will be gained will be use to produce higher quantity regarding the product.

10. How do you see yourself five years from now? (test of planning skills)

I see myself five years from now that I have MBA and PH.D on my name and see myself as a successful marketer and professional individual that work as a CEO of a company and establish my own business for my family.
