This sudden valuing of social skills in the world of work. Social skills these days are considered more important than anything, IT PISSES ME OFF!!! I hate how in every waking moment in our public lives we're expected to have something in our heads that's worth saying to someone in case they come into contact with us, and how 'quietness' is now regarded as something to be seriously concerned about. I was bullied at school, so I'm naturally wary of people and therefore I prefer not to communicate, more often than not. Teachers now acknowledge quietness in pupils for their report cards, as though it's a personality trait that needs correcting. It's not my fault I'm in a class full of rowdy imbeciles...

I hate loud-mouth extroverted people who, for some reason, seem to think that shy people who don't talk to them are being rude, when in fact we're just intimidated and shunned by people who have mouths bigger than their minds. We live in a world that favours extroverts so much, IT PISSES ME OFF!!!

Social awkwardness. Social awkwardness has ruined my life too many times, and I blame modern life for allowing it to exist.

I hate the fact that you can't go out and have a meal or a drink in public by yourself without receiving pitying looks.

People who can't tell the difference between being alone and feeling lonely.

Mainstream comedy. British sitcoms these days are tedious and appalling. Televised comedy is not even remotely funny anymore and 90% of people you meet have unimaginative, seriously retarded, sacre and sweet senses of humour as a result.

People who buy Sky TV. I understand that people want to watch sports and whatnot, but there's no justification for paying £40 a month to access 1000 channels of absolute crap.

The fact that adverts on TV now go on for just as long as the segment of the program you're watching.

Those feelings of complete alienation and isolation you get, even when you're surrounded by masses and masses of people...

Gender and class segregation in schools.

Religious schools. I went to a Catholic primary school and frankly it did nothing but mess my head up and instill my gullible childhood mind with unnecessary fears and superstitions, which I've only begun to rationalise.

The education system in Britain. I hate the way certain subjects are taught in school, like History and Geography. Instead of actually learning about history through time and the whole world around us, you have to study in detail poncy little case studies and snippets that you couldn't care less about, leaving you feeling pretty unfulfilled. Nowadays you have to plow through heaps of boring and irrelevant wikipedia content in order find some tasty information about a topic that interests you.

Expanding on that, I hate how most subjects at school are no more than just syllabuses, and that learning is now just a survival test and a battle of wits rather than a pleasure. I'd also like to add, I hate coursework more than anything. Particularly coursework projects. You have to put heaps and heaps and heaps and heaps and heaps and heaps of effort into a project that only counts for a minor fraction of a grade. What's with that?

I also hate those stupid class activities we have to do like drama performances, speeches, presentations, and other needlessly nerve-wracking and potentially humiliating stuff like that. It makes me wonder why I even bother turning up. I would honestly learn much better (and faster) if I just stayed at home and made notes from the relevant material myself...

TSR members. I hate their 'teacher's pet' personas, I hate their online bragging of exam results which are consistently 95%+, and I hate their refusal to just let go and communicate in a remotely colloquial or street-cred fashion.

Our ageing population. We have far too many old people in this country and it depresses the hell out of me.

As someone mentioned earlier, the cradle of life: you're born, you grow up, you go to school (then if desired, university), then you get a meaningless job working in some room full of computer screens as your soul is abducted, leaving you feeling not only unfulfilled, but disheartened with life altogether. Then you get married (why?), have kids (why?), retire, get really old, and then die. WHAT THE HELL'S SO GOOD ABOUT THAT?!

As someone else mentioned earlier, relationships. I hate how having a partner is now seen as a component in your life, like it's in the same category as having a car. I also hate how relationships now feel like businesses; you approach some girl, they weigh out your pros and cons, then rank you on a list of 40 competitors. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I have noticed an almost business-like mentality of thinking in some people's attitudes towards relationships, as though they have a specific criteria list in their heads and insurance choices. Girls are asked out almost aimlessly by guys who have nothing better to do and aren't even remotely in love with them. I also hate how being single is now treated like something that needs to be corrected. Well, pardon me but it's a big sea with a lot of ugly fish...

People who are financially secure that care too far much/worry far too much about money, as though having a lot is the only possible salvation to their miserable lives.

Supermarkets. Sometimes just being in a supermarket fills me with absolute misery.

My generation. I hate the fact that we have no capacity to rebel, or desire to alter our reality. There's no real movement. There's nothing to be excited about anymore. Just millions and millions of looks-fixated girls refusing to date someone unless they look like Harry Styles and other trendy talentless twa.ts, and now it's reached the point where we can't even enter WHSmith without being reminded of how supposedly infinitely better looking than us they are...

The automatic frowning-upon of the word 'drug'. I'm not a drug user but let's face it, we would live in a much happier world if only certain drugs were more socially acceptable.

Paperwork. So much paperwork is involved in almost every aspect of your life. Paperwork that takes forever to get to the point. I'm convinced nothing is real.

Feeling completely disenfranchised and lost in the world, and people who fail to understand that and what it feels like.

People who follow trends without realising how aimless and conforming they are.

The Sun, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Mail and the Daily Sport, and all people who read those papers.

The internet. The internet has made life easier but it has not made life better at all. I'll admit, adult content is great, but if it wasn't for the internet, you and I would both be doing something far more productive than you reading this and me writing this in the thin shred of hope that you have found this both funny and true.

The fact that your life is just an accumulation of minor irritations that collectively manage to outweigh all the good that exists.
