The purpose of this pre-attack survallience is to surpise the entire houshold at once and prevent them from taking any defensive action of raising a alarm or obtaining a weapon.

Preventative Tips: Ensure that your house has multiple security levels. This way if one is faulty or you forget to activate it you have another level of protection. For example be sure to have a house alarm system and electric fencing or palisade/spike fencing. Install burglar bars in your windows and a security gate behind all the doors in your house.
