Ten Reasons to Hope for the Zombie Apocalypse

1. You’ll never have to deal with your evil boss again. Unless, of course, she/he’s a zombie, in which case, you’ll get to bash her brains in (double win!).
2. When your kids ask you, “What’s for dinner?” you can sweetly reply, “go kill it yourself!”
3. You’ll finally get to test out your Tommy Knocker on some zombies, made by the one and only Zombie Fighter Jango!
4. All that knowledge you acquired from reading countless zombie book and weatching all the classic zombie movies will be put to good use (it’s not just entertainment!).
5. Your neighbors will finally stop complaining about your scraggly garden (I think a talent for killing plants is a sign that you’ll be able to kill zombies just as easily – it makes sense).
6. If the government shuts down, there will finally be a legitimate reason for it.
7. Maybe, just maybe, Daryl Dixon will come along, and you can impress him with your crossbow skills (amongst other things, *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*).
8. Twerking will be a thing of the past (one would hope).
9. Stupid diets like Atkins, South Beach, and juice cleanses will immediately go out of style. Twigs for everyone!
10. There will be a shortage of fossil fuels, and we won’t be polluting the environment at such a rapid rate (you’re welcome, Al Gore!).

I hope I was able to brighten your day, now that you can add these to your list of reasons to anxiously await the zombie apocalypse. It’s all about silver linings!

Cause Of The Zombie Apocalypse

...The zombie apocalypse had just broken out, and I was astonished that so many people had died on the first day. Apparently half of the world’s population had been killed by a zombie; but the peculiar thing about all these fatalities, is that all the people were standing still when they were killed. Apparently they didn’t even try and make a run for it when they heard the zombies approaching. Every single one of the deaths had been reported that way, and I, as well as others, had no idea what may have caused this phenomenon. Why would people not try and outrun something that was almost certainly trying to kill or mame you? I reached out to my colleague, who had the information first hand from civilians he had interviewed. When I had gathered...

Zombie Apocalypse Satire

...But the gems reveal themselves rather quickly as demonstrated by the meteoric rise of “The Walking Dead”. The creators of the franchise jumpstarted a dying genre, that of the Zombie Apocalypse. So much so that spinoffs are in production, and imitators abound. All trying to cash in on the mindless consumption of the horrid, as if we ourselves had become the mindless horde. Somewhere within each us the idea of watching a person actually devoured by another is fascinating, the repulsion one might expect; affected. The revulsion feigned, we just can’t get enough. Much is a byproduct of the desire to be a survivor, a warrior. Fearsome and self-sufficient, something our society discourages. The martial values being firmly placed in the purview of the military and the...

Zombie Apocalypse Research Paper

...The Keys to Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse A zombie apocalypse occurs when the dead “revive” with the intention to transform the living into zombies. It is quite evident that a zombie apocalypse has never occurred, and that the chance of a zombie apocalypse will ever occur is unlikely. However, such absent inactivity should not lead a person to eliminate the possibility of a zombie apocalypse as a future reality. Unlike natural disasters that often come with a warning, a zombie apocalypse would most likely be absent of any warning – it’s an outbreak that occurs unexpectedly, and spreads rapidly. Due to the unpredictable nature of zombie apocalypses, one should not neglect preparation. While at first glance, it may seem that surviving a zombie apocalypse is impractical; with the proper location, shelter, and weapons, people can in fact survive. Location is a vital factor to consider when preparing for a zombie apocalypse....

Zombie Apocolypse

...surviving the zombie apocalypse. Initially, shelter must be established. A well concealed building, such as a prison, is an ideal shelter from zombies. It is large enough to accommodate a large body of survivors who are hopefully willing to join the fight against the army of the living dead. Gates, fences, and large open areas surrounding the facility make it easier to locate and fend off any zombies that try to breach the perimeter. The solid structure of the building itself will help further deter intruders. A high outlook post within the shelter will also need to be quartered; from which, a designated “spotter” can survey the surroundings for any posing danger. Additionally and unquestionably, food and water are necessities whether zombies are seeking your flesh or not. ...Michael Collins English Composition 1 1010.01 Professor J. Caviezel 16 October 2013 Zombies These Days “By any observable metric, zombies are totally hot right now” (Drezner para 1). “Look at movies like ‘Warm Bodies’ and the coming ‘World War Z,’ the ratings for AMC’s hit series ‘The Walking Dead’ and $2.5 billion in annual sales for zombie videogames” (Drezner para 1). As time progresses, zombies seem to become a more prominent aspect of the American culture. Many people, along with thousands of experts, actually think that there could be a zombie apocalypse at some point in their lifetime. The primary cause of the zombie apocalypse popularity is gained through the entertainment that the media presents to casual audiences. The zombie craze originally started with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” This song set stage for zombie entertainment for the future. Over time, zombies have proven to “thrive in popular culture during times of recession, epidemic and general unhappiness” (Drenzer para 4). Since the United States is currently attempting to recover from a recession, zombies in entertainment are flourishing within American’s everyday lives. “The reason zombies are so powerful is that they capture an atheistic fear of the dead” (Marche para 4). Many experts say that this is one of the many reasons why the people like the shows so greatly and also why they prepare themselves for the worst (Gross para 25). Letter to John Rawls (Zombie Apocalypse)

...following situation Mr. Rawls, as it would be most interesting to hear from your perspective when the word “sacrifice” is brought to a level you may have never witnessed before. I am referring to the upcoming event of the zombie apocalypse. I first wish to discuss the origins of such an event. First, let me just clarify the term “zombie,” as it has variable meanings. In this case, a zombie is a person who is not undead, as that digresses from an unrealistic situation, but instead is infected with a disease that numbs the human brain to any type of central pain. It also brings the human to a primitive state, and as a result, finds any creature that does not resemble it or its kind as either a type of food or just hostile to its existence. This is a practice commonly used by most animals of today, but not in a state such as this. This infection causes the zombies to crave the flesh and meat of any creature, and as a result, the transfer of bodily fluids such as saliva will infect the victim, assuming the victim gets away from the attacker. At this point, there is no known cure for the disease, as those who were infected first created the infection accidently, and those who are trying to survive are simply trying to survive, and not create a cure. Now that a zombie has been...
