Nowadays there are a lot of regulations that prohibit discrimination on grounds of age and ethnic group that potential worker can come from. The priority of social policy in European Union and developer and developing countries is fighting with discrimination of different social groups. Integrated strategy is helping to fight down discrimination of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, believes, disability, age and sexual orientation. Most of employers say that the most important thing are qualifications, and only them should matter when it comes to hiring, but still they are more willing to employ young person than experienced fifty years old worker. The same case is when it comes to choosing between people of the same nationality as country the company is operating in, and ethnic minority. Employing the older workers have advantages as disadvantages, but it is the same case with hiring young person just after graduation.
For example among older employees there are much less accidents in work, since they are more experienced, have wider knowledge and simply know how things works. The older- the wiser, as the old saying says, that is why when there is older person in the team, there are less conflicts, and even when they will appear, using the experience, those workers can simply help with coping with them. It is also important that older workers have steady family life, they do not have small kids anymore, so they can focus on their career. They do not have to take free days just because they have to stay with kids because they are sick or to finish work earlier just to pick them up from school.
But there also a lot of stereotypes such as: being old means working slower, being sick more often, or they are not efficient anymore. Employers think that older workers are less creative and i tis harder to teach them new things. What is more, in their heads, they have a picture of older person who does not know how to use computer, who only wants to retire and who just want to vegetate somewhere until retirement.
It is almost the same when it comes to hiring ethnic minority. While interviewing the employee, it does not matter how good the resume is, some of employers have stereotypes in the back of their head. Also it is proven that also workers inside the company, in some countries, does not like to work with people from abroad, so it create tense environment. They think that workers from other countries not only take their jobs away, but are also willing to work for less money, and because of that they forget about the other side of coin. Looking through the prism of ethnicity is characteristic of people with closed minds. They forget that somebody from outside the environment can not only have new view on things but also wider knowledge and can know how to cope with certain problems, since they already could have to deal with the problem in the past. It is important to build diverse teams, because they are the ones that work the most efficient, they are open-minded and they can share their knowledge.

...which in turn serves as a framework for Part One. The concept of culture Many experts in their fields have wracked their brains to come up with what they consider to be their concept of ‘culture’. Those working in the field of cultural anthropology, alone, for example, have come up with a long list of definitions of the concept, based on their analysis of ethnological, social, psychological and linguistic data. The attempt made by Bodley (1994) to summarize these (Table I.1) gives an idea of all the facets of culture that need to be taken into account from an anthropological perspective. Although acknowledging the multiplicity of cultures, the authors of this book consider that the fundamental aspect of culture is that it is something all humans learn in one way or another. It is not something people inherit, but rather a code of attitudes, norms and values, a way of thinking that is learnt within a social environment. Family, the social environment, school, friends, work – all these help to form this code and determine how people see themselves and the world. The national culture and the particular region which people live in also help to shape a person’s cultural profile.
