Face of Facebook

...Friends By Face or Friends By Facebook “As we click with more pals online, the idea of friendship multiplies,” by Joel Garreau (2008). “Whom exactly can you count on(pg 139).” As a society today everyone is depending on the status of the internet. More than half of the people in the world has a Facebook from people you would never think of will have one. The points are you can pick your friends but…, words colliding, stitched together, and the real thing. Are these your frinds indeed? “Life was once so simple(pg 141).” The friends theme was “I’ll be there for you when the rain starts to pour,” and, “I’ll be there for you, ‘cause your’re there for me too(pg 141).” When you get an annoumous friend request the first thing you do is look into their profile before accepting them. Maybe see what friends you all have in common and then ask questions about them. Do you remember the times when you wrote letters to each other in school. Remember when you had to phone someone about a problem and it will just be between the two of you. What happen to those days when everyone did three way calling to find out the 411 on the new boyfriend. Facebook is the new beginning of communication. You know all those separate lives you lead(pg 142)? When you have many friends you act different towards each one of them. When you are out with your best friend and you all run into a friend of yours you know but she doesn’t know and you all do a secret greeting that only you and her know...

How to Choose a Good Roommate

... keep everything clean and good at communication. First of all, the person must be honest and straightforward. Before the person becomes your roommate, you don’t know what he or she really is. So honest must be the key character for consideration. An honest man would never cheat you, annoy your life or even threat you safety. If a person, for instance, is dishonest, he or she may steal your stuff or money, or bring bad friends into your room. Such bad things will effect your peaceful life even make you feel danger. However, how can we recognize whether a person integrity or not. For me, I would like to review it into three different backgrounds. The first one is the family background. The person who grew up in a good family would not do such immoral things to other people. The second aspect is the education level. If the person gets well education, he or she must have many abilities which include the basic one-honest. The last one is related with the job and social backgrounds. I prefer to choose a roommate who will be introduced from my colleagues or friends. Because I can get more information from them to get know my roommate well. Second, when two or more people live together, each one has to respect the others. We can not be self-fish. I think to keep our common...

Bad News Message

...Construction Manager, Greenfield Community College Date: 3 August 2015 Ref: Change in location of Venting Apparatus Sir and/or Ma’am, Here at Easy to Be Green, we pride ourselves on being the leader in installing energy efficient heating, cooling, and insulation systems. And since these systems are custom designed to meet you, the customer’s request, it involves a variety of Sub-contractors. And with this in mind there are time limits as to when we can make changes in the design. This morning one of my sales team, Chris, came to me with this problem, and I am writing to you so I can explain the reason as to why we will be unable to change the location of the venting apparatus, that you have requested. I understand that you had written to Chris requesting this change to accommodate a change in the campus’s overall design plan. There are two reasons as to why this Change cannot be accomplished; 1. There is a zoning restriction on this kind of Vent. I do understand that it is not widely enforced, but I feel as one of the leaders in this industry that it would not be beneficial for us to disregard this restriction. 2. Your request has come in late and there is only 1 month left before installation of the vents. This late addition was quoted to add $5000 dollars to the price of the contract. It is not practical for us to deviate from the written agreement. And therefore there will be no added cost to this project. Let me say again, I truly understand that you as our customer...

A Complicated Relationship

...A Complicated Relationship Once, there was a shy girl who likes to play the guitar. Her name is Gelou. She is always alone. She doesn’t have many friends and if she has, she doesn’t hang out much with them. Every time she’s at school, she always sits on the bench, play a song and sing it with harmony. One day when she was walking at the porch, she bumped into a girl. “Where are looking?!” “I’m so sorry. I wasn’t paying attention,” she replied. “Oh, I’m sorry, too. My day is just bad. By the way, I’m Kelly,” the girl said. “Hi, Kelly. My name is Gelou. Nice meeting you.” “Okay, got to go. See you around. Bye!” “Bye!” That was the start of their friendship. Every lunch and recess, they will meet up and talk about many things. They talk about a lot of things about academics because Kelly is not the type who will scream for her idol or wear make-up just to be noticed by her crush. She’s kind of boyish. Not like Gelou. But even though they are different, they still got along just fine. Suddenly, some popular boys, which are their classmates, just bumped into them. As expected, Gelou wouldn’t say anything. But Kelly is different. “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” “Oh, miss. We’re sorry,” one of the boys said. “Next time, you guys should look where you’re going,” looks at Gelou “Let’s go!” The next day, Kelly didn’t go to school leaving Gelou alone. For the second time in her life. Again, she was sitting in her favorite bench, playing a smooth song in her...

Me My Self

...bicycles and rollerblades while they strolled along the streets. What caught my attention was the airplane that flew across the sky that disappeared over the horizon. I always wondered what it would be like to travel to another place and experience another country's culture. It would be fun to go to South America, Australia, Europe, or even China. Well, I had my opportunity in 7th grade to go to France in Europe, and what I remembered from this trip was an injury that I probably would not forget. The place I stayed in France was a house not too far from Paris. It was in the rural areas of France, but it was a lovely place. My friend, Julien, showed me around the house and introduced me to his family. They were all very kind. Everything was going smoothly and I waited for the upcoming days of excitement. One day, on a weekend, Julien gathered some friends to have a picnic and to go on a bike journey. There were a total of 6 including me, 4 guys and 2 girls. Julien lent me one of his bikes, which was not the best because the wheels kept jamming, but usable. On the way, we stopped at stores to pick up snacks and accessories. We even stopped by a shop that had all kinds of explosives and fireworks. At this point I was really excited because in the shop were small dynamites, the size of USB drives to rockets that would shoot in the sky to make pretty sparkles in the sky. I eagerly paid for several boxes of small dynamites and a...

A State of Trance

...language. It not only provides insight but it allows me to feel as if I’m in another world. Music comes in many forms from rap, r&b, rock, pop, and many more but nothing speaks to me more than the power of trance. Trance is a genre of music that alters a mix of electric dance and repeated lyrics and beats. Throughout my school years I managed to have many friends but ones who weren’t really setting me up for a good future. I would do things, such as homework and studies, at my own pace and school wasn’t my first priority. It was fall of 2009, when my cousin Jay, introduced me to the world of trance. I remember that very first song he had me listen to called “On a good day” by Oceanlab. After hearing it several times I almost felt as if I were able to escape from the world I was living and came to realize that it was almost my little piece of heaven. Trance makes me so relaxed and motivated when I listen to it. It was almost like a friend to me because the lyrics that came along with it were more insightful than the words that came out of my friend’s mouths I hung out with. At that point in my life I moved away from friends and moved in a better direction. Sports have been a huge part of my life. I played soccer and volleyball all throughout high school and I remember specifically these words from my volleyball coach Maggie Porada, “ We can tell you what to do and how to play but we can’t motivate you more than you can yourself.” I went home after that practice wondering if...

My Friend

Your close friend or best friend is a person whom you can trust with everything no matter what happens. Your true friend is always ready to help you. To support you if you do something wrong and to solve problems together with you. They say that “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. I think it is really so. A friend is someone whom you can call ten years after no calling at all and he or she will be gald to hear you. You probably already guessed that I want to tell you about my friend. Her name is Dasha. We became acquainted with each other at the entrance examinations. We chatted for a while, wished each other good luck and went. Two months later, I came back to Kurgan and settled in the dormitory. To my surprise, I saw a familiar face in the coridor. It was Dasha. We were so happy , that we met each other, because we didn’t know anybody there. We immediately went to the commandant and asked to share a room. She allowed us. That’s how our friendship began. Dasha is three years older than me. She is small and slim at the waist. She holds her body upright. She has long, abundant, dark, curly hair. Above her dark brown eyes lies a perfect set of full, well-marked eyebrows. She wears glasses, which suit her very well. Her rounded face sits atop her shoulders with a brilliant smile.
