What? (1 point) * What happened in class today? * We talked about how evaluations affected us. Then we moved onto the group presentations from chap 9-15. * What content was covered? * Based on what was presented, I think that we covered all 6 chapters from shared leadership, to transformational leadership, core principles, learning taking ownership, and many more. * How did this class stimulate or hamper your learning? * I would say that It helped my learning on how the students where presenting. * Of course, some groups were better than others at presenting. I really liked the last presentation with Brock’s group. They had us involved, and the process of actually learning by doing and not just watching proved to be effective. * What did you learn about yourself? About others? * It surprises me everytime I say it, but this is by far the best group I have had since my freshmen year. I learned that It depends who you work with to accomplish a certain goal. Some will be bossy, some will be social loafers, and some put in more effort than the others. I just have to learn to adapt with all these kind of situations in order to achieve a common goal. So What? (1 point) * What was your reaction to class? * I have learned in this class. L.J mentioned it in the beginning of class that most people say they’ve learned more than the average in this class. And I’ll now have to agree with that. * How did you feel about what happened in class today? * I felt honored to have been part of such a great class, and great team. * How did you feel about the course content covered today? * The content was refreshing to see it through the eyes of others. The way everybody was presenting their topic was just very original, especially the last group. Now What? (2 points) * How can you

...Overview of the Chapter Leadership is a key ingredient in effective management. When leaders are effective, their subordinates are highly motivated, committed, and high performing. When leaders are ineffective, chances are good that their subordinates do not perform to the level of their capabilities, lack motivation, and may be dissatisfied. This chapter describes what leadership is and examines major leadership models and theories that have been developed by various researchers. It also describes how managers engaging in transformational leadership can have a dramatic impact upon their organization and discusses the impact of gender on leadership. Learning Objectives 1. Describe what leadership is, when leaders are effective and ineffective, and the sources of power that enable managers to be effective leaders. 1. Identify the traits that show the strongest relationship to leadership, the behaviors leaders engage in, and the limitations of the trait and behavior models of leadership. 2. Explain how contingency models of leadership enhance our understanding of effective leadership and management in organization. 3. Describe what transformational leadership is, and explain how managers can engage in it. 4. Characterize the relationship between gender and leadership. Ek Ruka Hua Faisla Report

...CASE STUDY ASSIGNMENT EK RUKA HUA FAISLA GROUP - 3 Group Members:- Amit Pandit Mittal Shah Ramachandran Ravi Kumar Saleem Ali Shaman Singh PLOT SUMMARY: In this movie, the jury of twelve men is entrusted with the power to send an uneducated, teenage boy to the Death Penalty. The crime that the boy is accused of is killing his father with a knife. The jury is locked into a small, claustrophobic room, on a hot summer day, until they come up with a unanimous decision. The decision that is to decide a boy’s life is to be either guilty or not guilty. The film is particularly important as it examines the twelve men's deep-seated personal prejudices. These are reflected in the perceptual biases and weaknesses, indifference, anger, personalities, unreliable judgments, cultural differences, ignorance and fears, that are in a position to mar their decision-making abilities, and subsequently cause them to ignore the real issues in the case. This can potentially lead them to a miscarriage of justice. What are the key learning for you as leaders? First and foremost, we learn that every decision should be based on reasonable evidence and it can be dangerous to rush to conclusions. In the movie, most of the Jury members were initially in a hurry to shut the case and pronounce the accused guilty even when they know it’s a matter of someone’s life. Only Mr. Raina stands against such a decision and demands that the jury should give appropriate time to the issue and have a healthy...
