The Human body is extraordinary! Everything we are able to do is because of our human body. I will be talking about the five Systems that each carry an important function. The ability to move, generate heat, feel (touch sensation), relieve pressure, and most importantly the last system I will be talking about which gives the ability to pump blood throughout the body! Unfortunately, the Human Body does get attacked by disease and disorders too. This paper will contain diseases and disorders that can bring the Human Body down, but also the medications that are used to treat these diseases and/or disorders. The five Systems are Skeletal, Muscle, Integumentary, Urinary, and Cardiovascular.

You can catch this disease from a crash injury, a burn, or injury that penetrates the skin. “This disease is very rare there has been less than 20,000 United States cases per year.” (Mayo Clinic) If diagnosed it requires medical treatment right away and lab tests are usually required. “This can be short term, usually resolves in days or weeks”, according to Mayo Clinic website. The surgery cuts open the compartment tissue to relieve pressure. This will help restore the blood flow. Although surgery is for treatment there are some pain medications to take to help with the pain. Myasthenia gravis is another disease part of the muscular system. “This disease is a weakness and rapid fatigue under voluntary control.” (Mayo Clinic) This is also one of those rare diseases that are found in the U.S. with less than 200,000 cases per year. However, this is a chronic pain that last years or even a lifetime. Tel: þ 618-92667390; Fax: þ 618-92663076; E-mail: pervang@cbs.curtin.edu.au Abstract This paper critically analyses the nature and state of decision support systems (DSS) research. To provide context for the analysis, a history of DSS is presented which focuses on the evolution of a number of sub-groupings of research and practice: personal DSS, group support systems, negotiation support systems, intelligent DSS, knowledge management-based DSS, executive information systems/business intelligence, and data warehousing. To understand the state of DSS research an empirical investigation of published DSS research is presented. This investigation is based on the detailed analysis of 1,020 DSS articles published in 14 major journals from 1990 to 2003. The analysis found that DSS publication has been falling steadily since its peak in 1994 and the current publication rate is at early 1990s levels. Other findings include that personal DSS and group support systems dominate research activity and data warehousing is the least published type of DSS. The journal DSS is the major publishing outlet;...

An Evolution of Computer Science Research

...of this report is published as "Trends in Computer Science Research" Apirak Hoonlor, Boleslaw K. Szymanski and M. Zaki, Communications of the ACM, 56(10), Oct. 2013, pp.74-83 An Evolution of Computer Science Research∗ Apirak Hoonlor, Boleslaw K. Szymanski, Mohammed J. Zaki, and James Thompson Abstract Over the past two decades, Computer Science (CS) has continued to grow as a research field. There are several studies that examine trends and emerging topics in CS research or the impact of papers on the field. In contrast, in this article, we take a closer look at the entire CS research in the past two decades by analyzing the data on publications in the ACM Digital Library and IEEE Xplore, and the grants awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). We identify trends, bursty topics, and interesting inter-relationships between NSF awards and CS publications, finding, for example, that if an uncommonly high frequency of a specific topic is observed in publications, the funding for this topic is usually increased. We also analyze CS researchers and communities, finding that only a small fraction of authors attribute their work to the same research area for a long period of time, reflecting for instance the emphasis on novelty (use of new keywords) and typical academic research teams (with core faculty and more rapid turnover of students and postdocs). Finally, our work highlights the dynamic research landscape in CS, with its focus constantly moving to new challenges...
