5 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Work Harder
You know success comes down to hard work. Now all you need are the tools to help you actually put in the hours.
Most of the time there's no mystery/'mistəri/ to success--it comes down to simply putting in the hours and the sweat(/swet/công việc vất vả, việc khó nhọc). But as we all know, the gap between knowing what's required and actually getting yourself to do it can be vast. /vɑ:st/ * How do you cross that chasm ( /'kæzm/lỗ hổng lớn, chỗ trũng lớn )? That's what a recent visitor to question-and-answer Quora wanted to know, asking "How can I motivate myself to work hard?" The query /'kwiəri/ apparently touched a nerve /nə:v/( dây thần kinh), as a host of respondents (/ris'pɔndənt đáp lại) piled /pail/ (+ up, on) chất đống, chồng chất, xếp thành chồng, tích luỹ (của cải...) on with several hundred answers, ranging from spiritual pep talks( lời động viên, lời cổ vũ làm cho hăng hái lên) to nitty-gritty(thực chất của vấn đề)time-management strategies. For those struggling to make sure their energy and commitment match their aspirations /,æspə'reiʃn/( nguyện vọng, khát vọng), it's a goldmine (nghĩa bóng) nguồn lợi lớn)of assistance /ə'sistəns/ sự giúp đỡ. Here are a few of the best responses:
1. Get clear on the end goal
The trick(mưu mẹo) to keeping your motivation up through low points and exhausted periods, traveler Marie Stein insists, isn't any particular productivity technique or energy-boosting idea; rather, it's being really, really clear about why you're doing what you doing.
"There is only one way for me to motivate myself to work hard: I don't think about it as hard work. I think about it as part of making myself into who I want to be," she writes. "The 'hard' part for me is choosing and accepting what it is that I have to do... Once I've made the choice to do something, I try not to think so much about how difficult or frustrating or impossible that might be; I just think about how good it must feel to be that, or how proud I might be to have done that."
Struggling to keep your focus on that end vision? "Just ask yourself: If you were the person that you want to be, then what would that person do?" suggests student Karl Bradley Saclolo.
2. Take care of yourself physically
Sometimes the problem isn't mental, it's physical. Your willpower can be at an all-time high, but if you don't have the physical energy to complete your work, keeping your motivation up is still going to be difficult. * "Are you tired a lot? Do you get enough sleep? Do you experience some constant unpleasantness /ʌn'plezntnis/, such as poor sinuses /'sainəs/ xoang or a constant liên miên pain? Are you sad or upset or just lethargic /le'θɑ:dʤik hôn mê all the time for no reason you can pinpoint xác định?" asks freelance writer April Gunn. If so, "get to a doctor if you can for a routine physical, just to make sure everything is working properly. Try your best to get seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Listen to your body when it's telling you things, seek out the causes of your discomfort, and deal with them as best you can.
"It's really hard to get and stay motivated to work hard if you're not feeling your best," she concludes.
3. Think habits, not motivation * Getting yourself to do something again and again by sheer force of will is extremely difficult. Getting yourself to do something by force of habit is easier. "Because motivation/willpower is a limited resource, it has helped me to instead build habits which, once instilled truyền dẫn (ý nghĩ, tình cảm...) cho, làm cho thấm nhuần dần, don't use willpower," explains entrepreneur /,ɔntrəprə'nə:/ Bud Hennekes. "Start with small habits that help you be more productive and make you feel good. For example, you could aim to walk 15 minutes a day or work in short burstssự xuất hiện đột ngột of intense focus."
Entrepreneur James Clear has endorsed xác nhận; tán thành this advice on Inc.com, though he frames it a bit differently. Rather than habits, he talks about the power of "schedules," but whichever term you use, the effect is the same--automating a behavior by integrating it into your routine means you rely less on willpower.
4. Embrace discomfort * Manager Mart Nijland suggests that those struggling with motivation remember the wisdom of bodybuilders: no pain, no gain. It is a cliche /'kli:ʃei/ lời nói sáo, câu nói rập khuôn, but there's no way to expand your abilities without going outside your comfort zone, so stop letting a little bit of unpleasantness sap làm mất hết (sinh lực), làm cạn (sức lực); làm nhụt (nhuệ khí); làm mất hết (lòng tin) your motivation. In fact, struggling a little is a good sign.

"For anything you want to work harder for, you have to go beyond that threshold /'θreʃhould/ bước đầu, ngưỡng cửa," he writes, "because you grow into a totally different, much stronger person." * 5. Bribe /braib/ đút lót, hối lộ, mua chuộc (or punish) yourself
Not all routes to improved motivation are high-minded. One of the more effective ways will also motivate your dog--simple reward and punishment. "Make yourself an offer that you can't refuse," suggests analyst Deepak Singh (but don't go as far as Don Corleone, please).
Both positive and negative incentives sự khuyến khích, khích lệ; thúc đẩy can work. "For example, if you want to read a book, set a deadline and a reward. Say, if you love ice cream, you could eat some as soon as you finish the book," suggests Singh. It might not sound very grand, but pushing yourself to complete a task by dangling , /'dæɳgl theo đuôi nhằng nhằng treats (or the threat of public humiliation or a pay-out on a bet with a friend) appears to be effective. * What's your top trick to get your motivation back up when you feel it sagginglàm chùng?

Your organization and your team count on you to provide leadership -- to navigate your group through change, make tough decisions, and focus efforts productively on the most important tasks. It’s about seeking opportunities for change, building enthusiasm for change efforts, and being an agent of change. Motivation is an equally important responsibility of management. It translates directly into productivity and team effectiveness. Everyone has limits and goals. You will find out what you can do. There is not drink or gym that will make you motivate yourself to workout unless you do it. Leadership

...Main Source (Blog) : Before you can lead others, you need to manage yourself By Dan McCarthy on September 24th, 2015 Source: http://smartblogs.com/ It's often discussed that what makes a good leader, and what are the main attributes an effective leader should have. There exist several articles published on this topic "Key Leadership Attributes" which explain the key qualities that every leader should try to follow and manage before leading others. I chose " Leading yourself before you lead others" topic as it encouraged me to survey and understand how can we become an effective leader, as if we are not able to manage our self first than we cannot manage others. I feel that Dan McCarthy article on “Before you can lead others, you need to manage yourself” motivates me to understand basic requirement what a leader should know and learn to manage within himself before leading others. When we talk about a team its development only starts with the development of the team leader. Leader in an organization is responsible to set goals, set priorities and achieve success. Also he/she plays an important role in motivating others and are considered as a role models for others. According to Dan McCarthy, "Leadership is leading yourself before you lead others", which means that leaders must first identify the leadership traits and understand how to develop his/her own skill sets to properly prepare for larger leadership roles and continued success in current role. ...Building the sales plan means more than just in-putting numbers into a spreadsheet; and that's why many small business owners and sales managers get stumped and why sales plans are often far from reality. Most sales plans are created with only the sales numbers in mind. But to build an effective sales plan, you need to consider more than the numbers. The sales plan needs to be valid and real; you will use it to plan many other aspects of your business (such as cash flow, capital expenditures, hiring, expansion and more). Test your sales numbers against the market: you need to know market size and your share of the market for this to be effective. First, your sales plan must define the time period for your sales forecast (1 year, 2 years, and 5 years). Second, it must consider the products you will sell (and potential new products you will develop and need to sell) over the determined period of time. Third, it must identify the number and type of customers you will sell to. Finally, it will identify the resources (human and equipment) you will need to supply to support your plan. And in these four steps, what must be thoroughly considered are the assumptions you are using in each step as well as the assumptions further on. A sales plan is only useful if you track and compare actual results to the plan. On a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, etc.) make sure that you update your sales plan with comments to highlight why, where, what, when, and how the actual results differ from the...
