* Apart from being the Organization's strength, Glove girl is also a threat; she can create a lot of HAVOC with the highly classified information. * There is no security of data confidentiality, and integrity in organization. * Management has not developed proper way to communicate with entire staff using computer technologies that could help to provide security. * Lancaster-Webb has good credit in medical supply and there is no confidentiality on private data of organization then there could be chances of repudiation down in medical market if data is shared out.

Causes * There are management and internal communications problems at Lancaster-Webb, as the management is not sharing information amongst them. * There is too much reliance on Glove girl as a tool to market the company. * The Marketing team is not updated with the latest technologies which can be used for proper marketing of their products. * Unbalanced communication medium to monitor employees’ activities.

Recommendation * Company should provide pre-employment training to every employee and repeat that within certain period of time duration. * Company should create policies that secure Personal Data of company and shouldn’t be share by any employee. * This could be new opportunity to for Will to promote Glove Girl because she can be used as a spokesperson of the company as she has an excellent public image. * The marketing department can always look for newer modes of marketing like SMS, e-mails etc. and should try to be ahead of their competition. * Organizations need to adopt social media policies to prevent proprietary information from being leaked to the public. Personal Opinion for Glove Girl

Bloggers’ opinion can constitute an extremely useful tool for a company’s product or service. The reason for this is that people feel bloggers have no subsequent intention in recommending something. In other words, they do not have the feeling that the blogger is trying to sell them something but that they are otherwise giving their opinion from their own knowledge or experience with the product or service. In the article “A Blogger in Their Midst”, Lancaster-Webb Medical Supply is living, for the first time, the experience of having a blogger (Glove Girl) writing about an old product, from the inside of the company (as an employee, but also as an user). The CEO of the firm is astonished to learn that there had been a huge demand of this product since she started talking it up on her blog. After studying the case, I consider Will Somerset would have different things to do with Glove Girl: fire her; hire her to post good opinion articles in her blog about the company and their products; not do anything with her, this being letting her post whatever she wants as she has been doing until now, or letting The Houston’s Clinic hire her. To know what would be the best solution for the company, we would have to evaluate the pros and cons of all these options. I would automatically discard the idea of firing her, as this would create an awful image and a negative marketing for the company if she ever decided to talk about unfair dismissal on her blog, given her reputation. On the other hand, I doubt the idea of hiring her to post positive opinions about the company’s product would work effectively on the long run. She might lose her credibility and even become boring and repetitive if her posts deal too often with the same subjects. This is the reason why Will Somerset also has the possibility of not influencing Glove Girl’s blog.

Summary Will Somerset, the CEO of Lancaster-Webb Medical Supply, a manufacturer of
Disposable gloves and other medical products, is about to launch a new line of medical
Gloves. As he prepares to deliver his big unveiling no one is showing up to his
Presentation. He quickly finds out that he is being upstaged by Glove Girl, an internet
Sensation blogger in the medical glove community. Furthermore, Glove Girl is actually one of his employees.
The case follows Will as he attempts to wrap his head around blogging and how
