According to Dr. Paul Farmer “The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that’s wrong with the world.” In an article Pitts argue that the saying “Black lives matter” resonates. Pitt argue about the wrong in the saying “All lives matter”. Pitt argument was about the phrase “All lives matter”, and the phrase “Black lives matter”. He points out that some thinks it elevating one life over the other, but it’s not. Pitt argued his points in many ways in this short article.
In the article Pitts states that “All lives matter” is words of moral cowardice. Pitts argues this point in the article providing many examples. The purpose in his article is that saying, “All lives matter” Is slightly wrong. He knows that all lives matter but it’s the black lives that need attention. Pitts expecting to get everyone attention who says the “All lives matter” to understand the purpose of saying “Black lives matter”. …show more content…
A few examples in his article are; “No one with the slightest comprehension of what King fought for could seriously contend he would be “appalled” at a campaign geared to the suffering of African-American people.” He uses Martin Luther King to appeal to his audience of all race. Another example is “Doc, it’s just my left wrist that hurts.” And she says, “Hey, all bones matter.” He then later says that the bone that is hurt needs immediate attention.
