When it comes to intellectual cowardice, it is described as, "the fear of ideas that do not conform to one's own" ( Paul & Elder, 2012 P.9). When someone has intellectual courage, they face ideas or beliefs even when its painful for them. However, with intellectual cowardice a person feels threatened by some of the ideas, when they conflict with their personal identity. One belief that I have that casues a strong emotonional response in me is the subject of abortion. I personally believe that abortions should only be allowed in certain situations. Abortions should be allowed only if the mother's health is in danger by the pregnancy, if the pregnancy was a result of raper, or if the baby's life is in danger. Other than these scenarios, I don't
